Now saying the hostage is a 26yr old male, think they said it's the owner or at least someone high up in the printing works management...also said they don't kill civillians and let one guy go earlier....

I wonder if the printing works has anything to do with printing papers such as the one at the centre of this tragedy?

Just reported that there is no connection as this is a specialist printers, not one that prints newspapers.

Martyrdom?

For what?

*Killing innocent people, running away, hiding, taking hostages....

They say they want to die as martyrs, more the reason to capture them alive and make examples of them, surley there is an un Islamic way to die, and I can't imagine the moderate muslim community having much to say about it either

FBI is involved. Let the FBI unleash HRT. Pretty sure one team is there.

WTF?

Why have they got AMERICAN police operating in another sovereign country? Are US prisons not full enough?

Anyway I say the poor hostage is already dead. FRENCH police should just storm the building and get it over with.
Negotiation is pointless as there are no demands they will make we can give them and its wrong to negotiate with terrorist full stop anyway.

Unfortunately it's not just the two terrorists that could kill her, there's always the chance of collateral damage if the police storm them..

Well its not the police fault if that happens but the terrorists for putting them in that situation.

These guys really are insane.. completely disconnected from society, they think the suburbs are their battlefields in Iraq and Syria.

What's a tragedy, is that these types of fanatics are a breed of rat that the west has bred through its corporate wars.

Iraq, Syria, Yemen - any unemployed youth from Paris, London, Detroit, Amsterdam can go and train and preach the word of Allah when the camera's are on - become completely disconnected and fanatical like these two men in Paris and just kill until your killed.

I doubt they even understand the Koran, its just a battle-cry for them....

Rats, viscous ones that have grown up in Fallujah and Damascus..

Apparently a grocery store has come under attack by someone with a gun
They believe the people who have hit the supermarket are the same ones that killed the policewomen and that they are linked with the Charlie Hebdo suspects
east Paris, a Jewish supermarket - they're definitely calling it a second group of shooters

a hostage has been taken as well..

Some of you know that I live in France, here is the basic feedback that I'm getting from the media over here :

- As things stand negotiation with the suspects is the number one priority
- Special forces and police have locked down the village where this is going down. The suspects have no longer any chance of escaping.
- The police don't want to rush anything : they have the situation under control, and are working for the most victimless outcome possible

As this is my first reaction over the situation here on ATS I'd like to add that unlike many who have been commenting the deaths, I grew up reading Charlie Hebdo. Cabu and Charb, in particular were two of my favorite caricaturists. I feel like I have lost a bunch of friends. I am very, very sad.

What saddens me even more, I think, are the reactions of those who would respond to fundamentalists as fundamentalists themselves. Charlie fought against ALL reactionnaries, and seeing their deaths instrumentalised by a growing fringe of ignorant warmongers sickens me to the core. The dead would not have wanted that. The dead spent every living second making fun of ignorance, and that is why they died.

DAMMARTIN-EN-GOELE, France (AP) -- Two brothers suspected in a terror attack took a hostage Friday and were cornered by police inside a printing house northeast of Paris. One lawmaker said they told negotiators they "want to die as martyrs."

They died because ignorant Muslims slaughtered them. There are lots of ignorant Muslims slaughtering innocents on a daily basis, it is about time the free peoples of the world rise up and eradicate the jihadist threat. These heinous actions hasten the day, and peace mongering facilitators of terror can't stop that day from coming.

So the other two people the news is flashing on the screen

The woman, and the other guy.

Part of the Hebdo shooters?

4 person 'terrorist' cell?

People who think as you do are no better than those "ignorant muslims", and I'll fight your vile and backwards philosophy just as hard as I'll fight the jihadists. Blood ony leads to more blood.

Now pi$$ off and let us mourn in peace and dignity. Please crawl back to the cave you came from, and drag your disgusting ideas with you.

Edit to add :

They killed people who think like me, and not people who think like you. Do you know why ? It's because people who think like you are not their enemies. You always give them what they want.

Well it ended in the deaths of the terrorists and the captive has been released.
Would have liked them to stand trial and pay for their crimes everyday of the rest of their lives but I suppose the victims familys may get a little peace knowing they are dead.

4 person or 5 person? What about the 18-year old that turned himself in early on? Was he also in on it?
