Worrying thing is the UK and other EU countries have been turning a blind eye to members of our society going over to Syria to try and topple the regime there.I think now they are catching on that it was a pretty bad idea to have Syrian trained terrorists come back

I wonder what weapons these groups got from Libya and Syria, and it wouldn't surprise me if a commercial airplane will be downed sometime over France one day with their Benghazi fire sale

When the IRA blew up children and adults in their bombing campaigns the English rightly didn't label the whole of Eire as terrorists , same situation here as these fanatics should never be seen as Representing the whole of the Muslim population

Free speach is all fine and dandy, but you know some people are just rude offensive people and others can be racist-think we all need to be civilised in our conversations

I have seen the Cartoon they find offensive,it's very clever in design but perhaps not a good idea to mock religious people at the same time we are killing so many of them in their own countries in our perpetual war on terror that only seems to make them hate the west more! Funny that, isn't it

It's a tragic episode in history when a simple and well constructed drawing can result in the sad loss of life

My thoughts are for the families who lost a big part of their lives today, and I hope justice will be served on the lunatics who did this

Hegelian Dialect at it's best.

"Hegelian Dialect". aka "If you want to control the dissent you lead the dissent".

Did you have in mind Hegelian Dialectic instead?

The victims of the terrorist attack are described as such:

They are the magazine’s editor and cartoonist, Stéphane Charbonnier, known as Charb; Bernard Maris, an economist and writer and the magazine’s deputy editor; and three more cartoonists: Jean Cabu, Georges Wolinski and Bernard Verlhac, known as Tignous.

Five other staff at the magazine are believed to be among the 12 dead.

Also killed were two police officers. They have not yet been named.

May they all rest in piece.

I haven't seen this bit of information posted here yet, but i may have overlooked it...

Apparently, the terrorists claimed to be from Al Qaeda:

#####, a designer known as #####, has told L’Humanité that she was forced to let the attackers into the Charlie Hebdo building. She said:

I had gone to pick up my daughter from daycare. Arriving at the door of the newspaper building, two hooded and armed men brutally threatened us.

They wanted to enter, go up. I typed the code. They shot Wolinski, Cabu ... it lasted five minutes ... I had taken refuge under a desk ...

They spoke French perfectly ... claiming to be al-Qaida.

This is an interesting scenario, considering everyone's eyes are on ISIS. If they really are Al Qaeda terrorists, then it could be possible that the attack was perpetrated by Al Qaeda in trying to get back on the map after being significantly reduced by its...competition...

Still, i would say that it is too early to discern the finer details. I'm sure more information will come to light as time progresses.

Despair all you want.. In light of dear leader coming out against the first amendment when it comes to this evil religion the low life president is part of the conversation and what transpired in Paris. His absurd hesitation at calling this terrorism is also further proof he sides with this religion of peace.

Historically this low life president has a history of blaming the first amendment for death. Remember the video that was blamed for the massacre at one of our embassies? Oh lets not mention that..

Obama does his damnedest to blame anyone but the perpetrators. He is part of the conversation..

Correction.. He is part of the conversation for those that don't worship at the feet and refuse to question the absurdity of dear leader..

For the rest, they will face palm in the face of logic and history..

Speaking of proof......do you have any for your grand conspiracy?

This is uplifting news from the French press:

Radio France, Le Monde and France Télévisions have put out a statement saying they will offer staff and other support to help the Charlie Hebdo magazine “continue to live”.

They invite all French media to do the same, “to defend the principles of independence, freedom of thought and expression, the guarantors of our democracy”.

Just saw the footage of the cop getting shot... I'm horrified and really sad right now.
You can just see that these guys know how to handle an AK-47 and how to move with it in a "Combat situation". There's nothing casual about them, this looks trained. The pattern of the bullet holes in the police car windshield shows that they know how to handle these guns, too.

I have to admit that now is the time that secular muslims make themselves clearly and louldy heard and codemn these acts and extremist islam. If not, this will start a whole other mess and getting the right wing parties all over Europe more confidence in condemning all muslims :/

Sure I would agree with you on that if I didn't have some precedents that cannot be ignored. like the followings for example:

And I know I win

Until the suspects have been found and taken to justice (with the release of further information, about motives and origin), I'm not going to accuse any religious faction. That's my all point here. You can win all you want...

I want just to point an curiosity about this terrorist attack:
The bodies numbers are higher than the victims. (at this point I believe 12 dead and 3 in critical condition)
This may prove, in my opinion, it was very well planed and executed by professionals (maybe military), with accurate shoot to kill mission.

Edit: another curiosity, today is day 7.. and 07/01/2015 = 7+1+2+1+5=16 »» 1+6 =7.. in relation to last events malaysia airflights MH17 of 17/7/2017, etc...

According to Sky news armed men have just raided the offices of French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo and shot 10 people dead.

This paper portrayed the prophet mohammad with a bomb tucked neatly into his headress.

This is perhaps a controversial subject however, its really about freedom of speech and do we allow immigrant islamists to run our countries by force of gun and murder.

I hope the French take a seriously dim view of this and act fast and furiously against this murder.

The paper was firebombed in 2013 and we have to ask ourselves do these cultures mix favourably or not. In the UK we have always taken the rise out of our top brass and the church - do we want this servile attitude forced on us which is against our cultural background?

Why should be make changes and be blackmailed by religious thugs. Is Islmaisation acceptable to you?

So is the guy who wrote the cartoon dead? Or the artist? Editor?

And is this death just a natural death or are you implying a murder?

Please detail.

Not to be 'conspiratorial' but if you look at the original footage of the police officer being shot, there's no blood coming from him. After a volley of 8 shots, he is apparently down.

Then he apparently gets shot in the head. His head doesn't react to a point blank range impact, and there is no blood after THAT.

Can someone maybe explain why that would be? There's no a single drop on the cement. I just thought it was odd. Not saying it didn't happen.

The poor quality of the video is to blame here.
