U.S. FBI Seeks Man After Explosion Near Colorado Springs NAACP

Authorities are looking for a man who may have information about an explosion that someone set off near the Colorado Springs chapter of the NAACP.

The blast happened Tuesday outside a barber shop next door to the group's building, which is about an hour south of Denver. Police say there were no injuries and only minor damage.

FBI spokeswoman Amy Sanders says an explosive was detonated against the building, but it's too soon to know whether it was aimed at the nation's oldest civil rights organization.

Sanders says a gasoline canister had been placed next to the improvised explosive device but it did not ignite.

She says investigators are looking for a balding white man in his 40s who may be driving a dirty pickup truck.

That's all there is on this at the moment. Thankfully the gas can failed to ignite, no injuries and only minor damage.

I might dislike the NAACP but I would never go to those extremes. I'm glad the stupid guy didn't kill anyone. The media will have a field day with this and create more tension in an already bad situation.

Correction: a completely inept person, likely with some hate (not enough info on that but I mean...what are the odds?) tried to do some stuff and botched it pretty hard.

Not seeing what we need to wail and gnash our teeth and tear our garments for. Nobody seriously injured, minor damage. That's a blessing. FBI is looking for a person.

Is it crappy that somebody decided to do the deed? Yes. Do they need to be brought to justice? Yes. But it's not exactly a tragedy of untold magnitude.
