mast sol 993
obviously not strong enough

That looks like more of those possible "sculptures" I have saved all of the pieces of one sculpture that was shattered, this is a style very like Aztec

I didn't see it as a footprint, like a dogs or deer's ,I was thinking more along the lines of a malformed simon says game.. I wonder if it takes battery's @D

so which elements of the erosion process carved out those fine gaps in the rock ? the wind, picking and choosing ? , decided it was going to carve a fork shape , got bored of making ,eggs, it tunnels, and the like ?

Most rocks are not uniform as a piece of moulded plastic, their consistency and composition may have enough differences to allow parts of them to be easier eroded (either by wind or, like the examples I posted, chemical reactions) than the rest, resulting in strange shapes.

just a co-incidence then, in you're eyes

I can appreciate a softer material being eroded away by an asthmatic wind , but if we were to turn it horizontally and look at the stratification ,at the 2 cm range , and look at it on the three feet range as in earlier photo's , what then were the conditions on mars to cause such varied stratification , what we need, I think, is a time machine

all plausible denials though ArMaP , but don't they add up

Not a coincidence, a result of how the rock was made.

I don't understand what you mean by "2 cm range" and "three feet range" and what connection that may have with the way rocks may be eroded.

What doesn't "add up", that rocks get eroded at different rates?

Yes I see that thing...
I can see it your way too;-)
But I am thinking marsamalish the general shape of the stone is similar to many fossil footprints from squishing wet stuff i assume.

im talking about the varying degree's of stratification we're seeing in the photo's , but then this might be another material seeping through in veins , the softer material wouldn't necessarily be layered flat alongside its counterpart,

all sorted ArMaP ,

like they use forks on mars anyway

who was it earlier who was asking for a footprint ?
I don't think they mentioned anything about it being a bipedal footprint

Sometimes there are other reasons for the differences though such as this Fossil Tetrapod Footprint

Wow some interesting pictures here!

I saw this in our news today, it was under the headline "Big Bird found in space"
Now, I dont see how they see Big Bird and I dont care about that,
but I see shapes/shadows of two people, one standing, one sitting, both of them with something in their hands.

I got only the picture on twitter, here's the link:
twitter.com...

(sorry, dont know how to embed just the pic)
