American Airlines flight 251, from Dallas Ft. Worth landed at the Rio de Janeiro airport Tuesday, with 200 people on board. During the landing, the
right main landing gear blew all four tires. Instead of stopping on the runway, or pulling off and requesting assistance, the pilot made the decision
to taxi in to the gate. A helicopter pilot that had just landed caught the incident on video and posted it.
The aircraft caused minor damage to the ramp, when the rims dug into the ground during taxi, and the return flight to JFK was cancelled and the
aircraft was still on the ramp the next day.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least. You know it's bad when you have an airplane that you have to put a block bar in the engine to keep the blades
from spinning in the wind, because it will damage the engine.
