30km SE of Mt. Fuji, Hakone is vibrating
likely thermal, as there are Hot Springs there
still, heck of a lot of them in 24 hrs
can't say that "Hakone" has jumped out at me from the data before, but would need to check that out.
Summary 09-10.05.2015 UTC
mag less than 1=135, mag1=31, mag2=3, mag3= 1, total=170, total energy released=0.652TTNT
these are not aftershocks of the M3.0, which happened in the middle of all this, two of the m2's were before that.

What a mission converting my Blog thumbnails to pie charts
On NZ there are 133 pies up till today
I did 3 extra pies for the 3 big quakes this year, which come with 7 day timeline graphs too.

Working on Japan now, backwards to end of Feb so far.

Whatever your source is, it's not accurate. Here's the two recent Indonesian ones:

M5.1 - 238km S of Sindangsari, Indonesia
2015-05-12 06:27:06 (UTC)
earthquake.usgs.gov...

M5.4 - 242km WNW of Saumlaki, Indonesia

earthquake.usgs.gov...

And if you don't believe the USGS listings, just double check via the EMSC:

Where are you getting this info? There have been no mag 7-plus quakes in Afghanistan or Indonesia today.

ETA: thanks, Nyiah. Good, solid info.
Your post wasn't up when I began writing mine.

I think we can expect more 7 magnitude earthquakes in Nepal. Crap...

www.cbsnews.com...

They're either going to get many more 7 mag quakes or it's gearing up for a very big one.

I think the bigger quake idea looks more and more possible now

I obviously need to re-visit my stress graph. That is the problem with these - not knowing what the CURRENT level of stress is - mainly because the records, or accurate records, do not go back far enough or are not complete enough to get the whole picture.

this was a quick post, I'm struggling with Vista, seems Chrome works best, Firefox is a dud, I' not sure if that is because Firefox has upgraded to W8.
No elapsed time on the popups
I'll have another look in the morning.

They said on the news that this quake, (the Japan one) was an aftershock from the 2011 one.

Is that possible, that long ago?
