Not sure this is the right forum. Mods please move if need be.

This is just being reported. Not much has come out about it as yet. Will post additional information if/when it becomes available.

A person claiming to be a member of a cartel claims they have kidnapped a border agent and threatened their life, according to police.

Border Patrol is making contact with all personnel in the Rio Grande Valley.

The caller dialed 9-1-1 yesterday and said they have kidnapped a Border Patrol agent, La Joya Police Chief Geovanni Hernandez confirms.

The La Joya Police Department contacted Border Patrol and the FBI. Hernandez said.

A Border Patrol spokesperson did not confirm the threat, but they did confirm the agency is doing an accountability check of all agents stationed in the RGV sector.

Right now there are more than 3,000 Border Patrol Agents stationed in the Rio Grande Valley.

This may just be the straw that breaks the camels back....but then again.......
The Feds don't seem to be in a big hurry to stop the cartels.....this would be the perfect opportunity to call in SF and get nasty with these criminal organisations......
Time to fight fire with a back fire I think.....
We have significant Black Ops capability and its obvious why we don't employ them against the cartels.....
a) the Feds are making too much money from the dope trade
b)fighting the cartels would involve some heavy regime change south of the border......

Should of left the old mob style cartels alone, every time we have gone after the cartels we have made things worse.

We do not have the will power needed to truly remove the cartels.

Good news! Hoping all off duty will be accounted for as well.

UPDATE: Border Patrol says they've accounted for all agents on duty at time of alleged kidnapping. Now contacting agents off duty @kgbt

Maybe the smugglers wished to distract enough personnel that they could slip an unusual load over the border today>
