Yea, you unload firearms at the crime scene. You don't leave loaded weapons laying around on the ground for hours and hours. In fact you can see the magazine with rounds (at least one) right next to the handle of the gun, which is also what one does when photographing a firearm at a crime scene.

I just don't think it makes sense for a cop to drop the mag if he is planting a gun. No reason to do that at all.
Plus, I have serious doubts that a cop working this close to Ferguson would plant a gun at a shooting scene in public. The whole planting a gun thing seems to run against common sense here.
And I have never seen a mag pop out a pistol because it was dropped, not saying that it doesn't happen, but I have never seen it.
It is possible that the 18 year old that was shot had very little firearms handling experience (I wouldn't even think of calling it training) and pushed the magazine release thinking it was the safety.

Do you have any proof that police shoot more unarmed black men than armed black civilians do?
There are probably more legal shootings of young black men by armed black men than shootings of unarmed black men by cops.

Look closely at the end of the video and you see him pull the gun. I mean, how dumb would you have to be to pull a 'fake weapon' with how high tensions are.

He was not a kid. He was an adult. He had a gun. Now, why did he have a gun? For protection from cops? Really? C'mon now, you know damn well it is to protect himself from people in the neighborhood, white or black, who would do him harm.

AS another poster stated, he was also not a black teen. He was a teen. Plain and simple. Race had nothing to do with it. If you are white and pull a gun on a police officer chances are you dead also. Like the cop who killed Dillon Taylor. Don't know that one do you? He acted out and was shot twice. No one burned down the local Sports Bar when it turned out the officer was black.

Why...because it is tragic. The death of anyone's child is tragic but you have to ask yourself..how did he get to that point that he would pull a gun on an officer? The racebaiters of this nation...not cops...

The black victimization rate is also 27 per 100,000 where with whites it is 4.5. Six times higher...black people arm themselves to protect themselves from other black people. Read the stats....

Hard to get used to them when you're not wearing them though...

Yep, the residents of that anus of the country have yet to learn anything regarding right from wrong. Innocent people killed does not equal the right to destroy the town. Similarly, pointing a weapon at a cop and being shot & killed for doing so also DOES NOT equal the right to destroy a town. Hopefully these people recognize that and don't get any further than the scuffle. Honestly however, I have little hope they can do anything other than just destroy everything around them for whatever excuse they in Missouri can come up with, but if we can be pleasantly surprised, more power to 'em.

That probably wasn't on either. I've heard that the cop had both a dashcam in the car and a body cam - and neither were on.

If he drew a gun and pointed it at a cop, what did he expect to happen? I won't go so far as to accuse cops of planting a gun, but without seeing the full video, we are left to assume the person shot is the person raising his arm slowly towards the officer.

According to people at the scene after the shooting, he apparently lay in the street alive bleeding to death for at least 30min - and no ambulance ever came. That could well be wrong or right, lots of rumors flying around right now.

I'm wondering what the camera on that side of the building fought? Just putting that out there.

I really don't get it at all. Before the footage I could understand the skepticism but this was clearly a clean cut case of self defense. Man people on here are still grasping for straws for a reason to blame the officer. So the police planted the gun and then edited the video to make it look like he pulled a gun and pointed it at the officer?????? Get real! I understand that this is a conspiracy site but this isn't one clearly. This young man committed suicide
