Well this is about the video so I'll rephrase what I said.

I don't like the idea of our police to have MRAPs.

I still don't like something that was used in a war zone used on the people.

See I don't think that's all that important. There are lots of things that police and civilians have adopted from the military. I love my AR-15 and AK. Same with my 1911. I have QuickClot in my medical bag. I use an EoTech site. People love their HUMVEES (the military is currently bidding off a number of them to civilians).

These weren't designed for police, they're being given to them instead of scrapped. Sure, I don't like where a lot of them go because I think it's a waste to have them in some little town of 15k people. I just don't see it as being a way to slowly blind the country to an encroaching police state.

Or if we must have them, not parade them around all the time and use them in situations that call for them.
Which shouldn't be that many really.

I'm with you on this. I remember seeing an APC in my rather small city (at the time) hauling ass with a police escort probably 5+ years ago. Ended up bumping into a cop at 7-11 and asked her what the deal was. "Boys and their toys." I can't quite recall what the situation was, I think they were serving a warrant on someone or something. It was rather innocuous. At the same time, they are pretty neat. Cops want good publicity just like everyone else. Showing kids a big cool thing like that is fun for everyone, cops, parents, and kids. They don't need to come out for every little eventuality. Still, if you were a cop, wouldn't you rather show up in something bulletproof?

You know what is funny about police today and yesterday?

Yesterday I knew all 6 police and magistrate in the area I lived.. Today I dont know any of the police in the area I lived..

The difference between today and yesterday is the police are so dissociated with the community they live in that they are basically strangers to most people..

Another difference between those 2 incidents..

I lived in the city basically about 30 mins from downtown Pgh..

Today I live in the middle of hickville where I always here everyone knows everyone knows everyone.. But the police.. I know nothing about...
Oh and I am a taxi driver also for the railroad where I live also so I am on the same roads in the town I live in all the time..

Ya I was a little to broad with the war zone statement.
We do have some good stuff that came from there.

I agree to a degree. I would point out that those Sheriffs that do support the constitution might be using those vehicles against the Feds rather than us.

Also, I see alternatives to a revolution. Dissolving the Union is an option. Allowing those states that follow the left's ideal may do so. The rest can re-form a new, smaller union thus avoiding the bloodshed and chaos that will result from outright revolution.

confusing.

bush w said we are either with or against him/us...was he a constitutionalist, or was he against the constitution when he said such?

so the patriot act is to point out that the constitution/those that follow it are now the enemy?

We've brought this on ourselves by being incapable of living as Americans once did. Self sufficient, responsible, independent. Now people will comply with the most unreasonable of demands because the government is the sole provider for half the population.

Dependence on handouts is incompatible with a free society.

People that have no ability to provide for themselves will accept a mommy and daddy state, because they know they need it. They'll throw tantrums, protests, they'll break the rules, be criminals, but they won't ever break the chains that bind them. They won't ever truly become responsible for themselves.

The welfare state is dragging the rest of us down with it. They'll continue to support whatever repressive policies they have to in order to get their bread.

Something inside me says during a civil war the local police will end up fighting on the "constitutionalist's" side. Unless like some posters have said, military bodies and mindset have already infiltrated state and local law enforcement. I swear some of them seem bred from a test tube.

Well thats a crock of snip.

Since gang bangers, and other criminals are all better armed than us 'constitutionalist's'.

That was their initial excuse for arming local law enforcement with military grade weapons. They were sick of bringing knives to a gun fight (proverbial). The biggest fish in the pond are usually the hardest to catch but are few in numbers. The real threat is us! We Americans love our guns and will defend whatever little freedom we have left, even though something should have been done a long time ago as many have become complacent. At least most are still armed.

We act like coiled snakes with misdirected aggression. I pray when the time comes people will hear the call, everybody has a breaking point. Its too bad we all can't rally around our constitution and realize as a nation we have been late to defend ourselves.

Those are nice toys and protect against most rifle fire and small explosions. But they are very vulnerable to fire. A couple of molotovs in the right place can not only drown the engine but also bring internal tempratures up to unbearable levels.

So throw a couple molotovs stall the engine and wait them out.

Hehe, you know 76% iron oxide power & 24% aluminum powder + a magnesium strip or sparkler for ignition and you can make thermite, out in terra cotta planters ignite and toss just about when the wick material just starts to enter the holding area. That's basic thermite and has been used for years to weld railroad rails with butt-welded joints. Also achieves extreme heat, quickly and can probably damage metal vehicles a bit.

Anyhow, there are ways to do things if you are prepared to do them.

I roll my eyes at constitutional fundamentalists, who act like their interpretation is the "true" interpretation based off of whatever evidence they claim, but I am not exactly fond of the present government, and/or the present power-structure.

Its hard to say whether the initial government were indeed constitutionalist. Obviously what followed was the genocide and subjugation of Indians and their land. Its contrary to have a bill of rights containing God given rights to man that only applies to certain men. With that said, much thought, care, innovative thinking was put into the Constitution, and our original documents and ideas should be cherished and held sacred. Also we should not forget no matter which political leaning we subscribe; to cast a light on any institution government entity that subjugates by funneling resource to a small minority, while the people suffer. Furthermore to resist any government or representative of the people who votes no longer for the constituents, any government or representative that becomes so separate from the people as to act arbitrarily, or haphazard that it/she conflicts with any notion of the common intuition/wealth; should be considered a threat. I am a constitutionalist, and I stand with my fellow brothers and sisters. Hopefully we don't go into another dark age in history but it is becoming more evident that this reality may very well be going in that direction. If it dose I believe another renaissance is in order.

Oh ya! Both sides are getting the works, now a days its the cops I believe more so then these gun totting constitutionals whatever that means. What now even the msm are rioting them up. Now I dont particularly am for all the things cops do, but it takes all kinds, and there trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Its like bowling, you set up all the pins, then you knock them down, and if that does not work then the msm would start pointing out the constitutionals again, you know just to keep things going, and if that does not work, well there are a thousands things to point to, its not really that hard to rile people up. Even world wide the tensions are starting to rise. So we shall see what comes of it all. It will be interesting to see if you all start killing eachother over nonsense again. But who knows, I suppose we shall see.

what planet are you living on?
a quick google search shows "gangbangers" typically carry cheap/stolen handguns because they're inexpensive and available, concealability is another important factor.

Constitutionalists are generally nutters that don't even understand the Constitution.

Not all of you, some of you are very nice folks that are well versed logical thinking Constitutional Scholars.

What did they expect? If all of the gun pumpers are going to be amassing firearms, they must know that the rest of us aren't going to let that happen unchecked.

Oh, I don't like relying on the police to keep the constitutionalists in check.

I'd much rather have some sensible gun regulations.

The Deputy forgot about the old maxim"In the battle between armor and projectile, projectile always wins".
An armored vehicle is projectile magnet, not the place you want to be,a lesson personally learned the hard way.
