I said the U.S. stated it's been deemed a "serious national security matter"...
& that's exactly what the article says.

The fact that it's been called this after the online threats rather than before...
I'll move to Ockham's Razor.

Since you won't be able to see it in theaters, and everyone will now be dying to see WHY...Sony knows they'll make a killing this way, and I'm sure it was intentional on the part of the movie studio.

Today the supposed hackers put a dent on that plan . They instructed Sony to remove ALL matters dealing with the movie including promotions and trailers or else.

Interestingly waiting to see Sony next move to see how it pans out and to see to what extent sony involvement is on all this.

Yes They Did!!!

I don't see anywhere in that source where it says that the government thinks that the Guardian's of Peace's threat is credible. I just see another article going over the same things we've already discussed. So how about quoting the text that says what you are saying? I see the government is considering an appropriate response, but that could be anything. It certainly doesn't vindicate that they pose a solid threat to the public.

So you repeatedly call me a fear monger for having a difference of opinion.
Then you twice said I was appealing to emotion... Again for a difference of opinion.
That's ad hominem and you know it.

I called you a fear monger because that is what you are doing. You are spreading fear through unsubstantiated rumors. Then you are using an appeal to emotion to get people to side with your fear mongering. Fear monger is a label; appeal to emotion is an arguing tactic (fallacy). So I'm not sure what you are trying to compare here.

Then you claim people have died over the movies you listed.
Now you've turned it round and said no one has died over this movie either so you don't have to prove anything...

Quote the text that I wrote that says that people died over those movies. Because I certainly never said that.

Even though I never claimed anyone did die... & I constantly said the word "potentially"...

I never said that you said that either.

When you make a claim, and someone asks for a source, usually it's protocol on ATS to back up your argument...
You can argue with yourself from now on.

I've backed up every single claim I've made with a source. Which claims have I made that haven't been backed up? Why are you making up my side of the narrative? Did you forget what we talked about or something, because this whole post is full of you saying that I've said things that I never said or did things that I didn't do.

I have stated numerous times that I have a difference of opinion to you.

Instead of accepting that fact...
You continue to attack my character, making assumptions about my intentions.

I see no reason to continue this conversation.

So can I take it that you aren't going to quote me on all those accusations you made about what I said?

By the way, I never attacked your character. I've attacked your argument this entire time. When you tried to appeal to emotion. I just called you on it then moved on. When you try to fearmonger. I just called you on it. Though if you think that is insulting to yourself, maybe do a personal reflection on your beliefs. There is a reason the 2000 decade went down the way it did. The whole country bought into the same rhetoric that you've been saying this whole thread.

Your Quote...

People die; it's a fact of life

My Quote...

Over Movies? Since when?

Your Quote...

Team America. South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut. Death of a President.

Now if misunderstood what you meant by this I apologise...

But don't act like you didn't say it to make me appear to be disingenuous.

& again...
Because I have a difference of opinion doesn't make me a fearmonger...
That's an attack on my character with an assumption of my intentions.

& again... I didn't appeal to emotion...
I shared my opinion...

I didn't say what I said to influence others no matter what you would like to think about my intentions.

The 2000 era went down the way it did because your Alphabet Agencies ignored several other countries warning about the non threat of Cavemen planning to fly planes into a building...
Since then, your Alphabet Agencies have decided not to see anything as a "non threat" as you described it...

I don't blame them either.

Is that fearmongering?
Or a difference of opinion?

Call it what you want, I'm done with this now.

Oh btw, the FBI released a statement today saying they haven't divulged all the information.
But I was just fearmongering when I suggested that I guess.

That may have been a misunderstanding on both of our parts. I certainly didn't mean that people died over movies and I think I may have been a bit confused by your wording there when I wrote the names of those movies in response to you.

& again...
Because I have a difference of opinion doesn't make me a fearmonger...
That's an attack on my character with an assumption of my intentions.

No, I posted a link saying that the DHS has no intelligence saying that Guardians of Peace pose any sort of threat, but YOU have been saying all thread that isn't good enough and we need to worry anyways. THAT is fearmongering. It may be a difference of opinion between you and I, but it is STILL fearmongering.

Since then, your Alphabet Agencies have decided not to see anything as a "non threat" as you described it...

OR they are recognizing new threats for the real danger they pose. None.

Is that fearmongering?
Or a difference of opinion?

Well not blaming someone isn't fearmongering and I haven't volunteered my opinion on who to blame so I can't really call it a difference of opinion either. I CAN call it an opinion though.

Oh btw, the FBI released a statement today saying they haven't divulged all the information.
But I was just fearmongering when I suggested that I guess.

You are if you don't post a source. Didn't you just tell me that I don't post sources for my claims?

There is new thread from today that explains it.

“The FBI now has enough information to conclude that the North Korean government is responsible for these actions. While the need to protect sensitive sources and methods precludes us from sharing [all the details of its evidence]

The Guardian.

This:

the FBI released a statement today saying they haven't divulged all the information.

Isn't the same as this:

While the need to protect sensitive sources and methods precludes us from sharing [all the details of its evidence]

The first sentence says that there is more to the terrorist story. The second sentence says that the FBI hasn't released all the evidence it has that implicates NK in this hacking attack for confidentiality reasons (you know, protect the sources from harm?)

So no, there isn't additional information hidden away that the FBI has chosen not to release that paints the Guardians of Peace as more dangerous than what we know. The only information hidden away is the information that points the finger at NK.

Have you seen Team America? Shutting it down might be doing you a favor. Rent it on iTunes if you want to watch it. Personally, I thought it was the weakest thing the South Park boys have done.

Watch an old Thunderbirds episode on YouTube. You might enjoy that more.

Let the games begin you either have a set or you don't. If you don't then stay on the bench. Looks like Sony is sitting this one out.

Went to the pawn shop last night and bought all three copies that they had. This movie is mandatory viewing for any real American, imho.

HAHA! I just saw this on the Huffington post. Just had to share it!

'The Interview' Porn Parody Is Really Going To Upset Kim Jong-Un: Hustler Boss

Larry Flint has announced that Hustler Magazine will produce a porn version of "The Interview".

Nothing screams freedom of speech like a good ol' American parody porn film.

Hustler boss Larry Flynt announced that he's producing a parody version of 'The Interview' as a response to the film being pulled from theaters amid threats by hackers linked to North Korea.

LOL

“If Kim Jong-un and his henchmen were upset before, wait till they see the movie we’re going to make,” Hustler founder and chairman Larry Flynt said, according to AVN. “I’ve spent a lifetime fighting for the First Amendment, and no foreign dictator is going to take away my right to free speech.”

I dare not specualte any further, lest I break some T&Cs.

Yeah I agree I'd much rather people lose their lives in a terrorist attack than shut down a #ty propaganda film.

If terrorists attack us because they hate our culture, or, if terrorists threaten to attack us because they hate our culture--and we forfeit our culture, values, and ideals to appease them--then the terrorists have won. They successfully destroyed our culture.

You have allowed the political equivalent of playground bullies to rule you.

It's very embarrassing that these companies are such cowards.

Free speech took a serious hit this week.

First South Park and now this.... what a load of crap man.
People should be able to watch any movies or shows without fear of this.

*sigh*

I'm not succumbing to anything.

Sony made a decision based not only on terror threats, but also so employees Medical Records are not released.

Would you do the same for your employees?

Too many people reacting to this as if the government have made a decision to fear terrorists...

It's actually a Corporation's decision to protect employees.

& the ironic thing about all of this...

You're all dictating what Sony should apparently have done...
& that makes you no better than the hackers who are dictating.

While they are at it they should Jail Parker and Stone for offending Pokemon lovers, Scientologists, Homosexuals, Mexicans, Muslims ,Canadians, Australians, Chinese, Freemium gamers, Priests, Barbara Streisand, Lorde, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, Russell Crowe...

I called it a few days back. The moment that 'the interview' was pulled I knew that Team America would soon be in the cross hairs despite the fact that the movie is a decade old. So why ban it now?

All Messrs Parker and Stone did was to hold a mirror up to society so they could highlight the absurdity of our way of life, just like Grand Theft Auto V did.
