Yeah I saw it on Sky earlier when people came over and they wanted me to change the channel to it. I could only take about 10mins of those 2 guys rambling before I was like eh have you seen enough? Can I change the channel now?

Just kinda thought that was odd basically just 1 frame. Not suggesting any kinda conspiracy or anything though.

He had the big backpack and the hostages were forced to make videos mentioning two bombs in the store and two around the city. Even if there wasn't a bomb, he led the hostages and the police to believe there were bombs.

As this developed last night, I wasn't sure it was religiouly inspired, I suspected when you drill down it stemmed from a domestic violence issue of some sort (combined with a serious mental case) that flicked the switch from religious nutter to hostage taker.

We'll have to wait and see, sure religion was a offshoot, but I suspect it's not the main driver.

I hope the victims are ok, what a horror story. I am dreading hearing who was killed (besides him, good riddance to the piece of sh*t).

Anyone else notice at 1:01 in the link below the video glitches and shows slightly differant angle for 1 frame? Almost like it wasn't live or something?

Here we go...

Good link and thanks.

The first loud noises as swat team entered were flash bang grenades and smoke, then the following shots were fully automatic mp5's and semi-auto handguns.

The team also had full night vision, which gave them a pretty good advantage, but they also had to deal with split second recognition of the perpetrator vs the hostages.

Big "Pucker factor" as military and LEO would say.

That's the news that was overshadowed by some charlatan.

Not to mention Jordan movin down to 4th place.

Nef,

They were definitely military trained.

Most likely veterans, because that raid was done in under 20 secs.

Thanks for the update.

They would be the Australian Army Commandos from TAG-E then. Police initially deal with these things, but depending on where the event is happening, either the SASR or 2nd Commando Regiment will aid in raids. This, being on the East coast, would have been dealt with by the NSW police and TAG-E.

Thanks for the update.

www.skynews.com.au...

It doesn't shift to a different angle, the video flickers and the frame shifts slightly to the left in the same angle, a common thing that happens.

You got a source because all i can find is that it was police and the RAR are they not just a regular Australian infantry unit.

I would have thought this would have fell to a PTG or one of the two TAG Units

What do the people of Australia think about that?

Does it really matter, like the US or any other Gov. they do as they please no matter how many of the countries citizens have a differing opinion.

My comment was more directed at the propaganda for war generated with this event.

Yeah, I can already hear one of our Politicians using this to forward some agenda where most likely more will die in the process.

Now the Australian main stream media can use this "terror attack" as the excuse to wage war on some "Imaginary State".

The media here like to play left and right, some will some will try push this was not related to terror but a sick man with a sick mind, but hey thats what terrorists are, so yeah its one F*** of a situation.

Surely a number of politicians will use this event.

Sad but true, they also announced we were blowing the budget out here in Australia the other day .....

Also, no one has said this yet, but on Sunday night on 60minutes here in Australia they were going over the biker shootout in Milperra in Sydney that happened in 1984. A precursor ??? maybe but that did happen on Sunday where they had all this new information etc.....

Here is a perfect example when police are the hero's and are needed.

Being a LEO is one of the most thankless jobs around, and officer that are upstanding, do there job correctly should be praised. And those that don't should be prosecuted like any other criminal.

Peace,
