I saw some footage of what appeared to be military, positioning himself near the cafe in such a way and with a rifle looking weapon and I thought "military sniper".
He certainly seemed to know what he was doing. Can't find it now. I'm sure it was following a link one of you guys put up.

Channel 7 seem to have the best footage aswell, everyone (media) has been pushed out the area so are replaying old stuff but 7 still has cameras fairly close by.

they would do. the cafe is right in front on the window that looks into the live news desk. You could spit from there and reach the cafe.

What has that got to do with what I said.

Google Islamic State Flag images...
Then go to the bottom of page 1 on this thread...

They're completely different flags!!!

I'm wide awake, denying ignorance with a simple fact.

Even if someone gets beheaded, God forbid, that doesn't mean IS...
It could be any jerk offs with a extremist complex.

Interesting, pretty quick to go out on a limb saying it is not Islamic State.....
Maybe they have to create their own home made flags because there are none for mail order.

The message seems to be the same on all the flags, no god but one message. Colors same. Who cares if it's not precise it represents the same thing. Pirates made their own skull and crossbones flags on the high seas, no different.

No. The first to speak was the state premier. i suppose for the americans its like your state governor. the other one now is the police commissioner

Central business district. Used to describe a central location in a city or town. Where most buildings, offices, shops & cafes are located. Hope that helps, maybe an aussie thing idk reply to: Domo1

Also in Australia the police are all state based, run by the state government. (Apart from the Australian Federal Police, similar to the FBI)

I don't disagree with what you say Tinfoil...

However, imo, if this was IS, we'd know about it by now.

My personal opinion is that it's a nutjob extremist with a grudge against what people have said is a non-Halal business.

If I'm wrong I'll admit it.

Not sure if this has been posted. Apparently there were raids in September about a plot that named Martin Place and they wanted to behead a random Australian. Draping the flag on the victim was also directly mentioned, would be a big coincidence here. At the time they appeared to be close to acting on their plans.

Yeah pretty much their whole news room building is glass aswell isn't it? I know because they were saying they saw the whole event unfold.

The commissioner seems confident atleast that the outcome will be positive, however all the questions that have been asked that would give us proper info he can't answer yet, but i guess thats understandable.

I was just watching the Head Officer for NSW Police and he has said they aren't at all related to ISIS. They also said they wont be getting into the details of who the flag belongs too just yet..
