Yes they do deserve better treatment. But an educated man would see that history bears it out to be different. It is unfair, yes, but it is also ignorance of the facts to expect them to treat you different. Should things change yes. But still i can't feel sorry for them nor respect them when terrorism is what they are doing. Except for those with a low IQ for they know no better. And i think they have been taken advantage of. But far from a hero to me. Snowden is more of a hero than most of them as far as being true to the country.a reply to: Kangaruex4Ewe

Sounds to me like you have a high opinion of supposedly "educated" people. People enlist for many reasons of which I will not go into here since you seem to think that a IQ point level makes some one better than the other. (Which has been proven over and over that is not the case).

Are there idiots in the military, of course there are. But I run into more idiots in daily life than I ever did while serving. And some of those idiots are Doctors, Nurses, Engineers, etc...

They might be book smart, but lack any common sense.

And this, EXACTLY this, is the elephant in the room. Why does the government eat people up, spit them out and then discard them to a life of.... hardship and misery?

A They don't give a damn.

B It is not calculated into the "cost" of war profits?

C It is not in your employment contract that after leaving service you are "entitled" (damn I hate that word!) to any support for ailments/conditions you have endured as a result from your "service".

D Insert a random reason here.

E A combination of one or more of the above.

I have no idea as to the real reasons why, but I do know it is morally reprehensible.

I do not agree with war, I do not agree with vast military expenditure but I do agree with supporting the people you helped # up, mentally, physically or otherwise.

The video was extremely effective (and I can appreciate the music genre
) but it makes so #ing angry seeing people treated this way.

Tears of rage, an emotional response agreed, but an honest one.

Why would someone sign up?

Because we vets actually care about the safety of this nation. While it is true that the military now fights for corporate interests there are still nations like China and Russia that could still be a threat to America.

Unless you have a low IQ and did not know any better, i do not feel sorry for you.

Oh sure it's real easy to handle all the high tech equipment the military uses with a low IQ. Don't comment about the military anymore because you are just showing off your own low IQ.

Snowden is more of a hero than most of them as far as being true to the country.

Snowden is a coward. A real man stand up and accepts the consequences of his actions they don't run a hide in another nation. Bradly Manning is more of hero and a man than that little girl Snowden will ever be. Besides Sonwden didn't tell anything anyone with half a brain that has been paying attention to what has been going on didn't already know. Ron Paul told everyone years ago that the government was listening in on what everyone was doing but dimwits wouldn't listen to what he was saying.

Much like the un programed Appalachians fought the best in the revolutionary war. Hunters farmers, gangsters. ect... would build regiments and be helpful as long as we still have the right to own firearms.

Newsflash this isn't the 18th century anymore good luck on using your rifle to take down a plane or missile.

BTW the army learned a lot of new tactic and better ways to fight from them back then.

Guess how we learned those tactics? By fighting other nations not by sitting on the couch playing video games.

Someone with a low IQ in my opinion will just follow the program and have nothing to ad but be a robot. The expendable soldiers they put on the front line. They test for these things to see what people work for that situation. I have no problem with them. It is not their fault they are born that way. Just saying the effect.

Threats from china and Russia come from us bullying them. Just a defense on their part. As far as IQ i don't fault them for that and yes not all are low. But an insult to IQ i did not make. Said there are position for those with higher ones. Just saying where they place them. No need to insult mine. As it is high enough for me to be proud of it. Your insult and not reading everything might indicate something for you to look into though. a reply to: buster2010

True the info was out there. But no docs like that to get the masses to believe. If a man wants change and make a difference. Why would he turn himself in for execution. That is just stupid talk. It is like saying if you don't like it here leave.. Why not try for change for the better? It's the ones that don't want change that say that. Afraid it might happen. Evolution and life is about change. 1000 years ago everyone thought everything was best and the right way for politics. That has changed. It always will. Those that fight change seem like Christians banning eyeglasses to me.Do we really want to go down this path. This path we made is what was ran from and what we fight against before. Conterminous waring tribes over ideology. With out majority rule. So we wreck their country and then appoint their leaders. Minority represented. And that will only make more unrest there and here. a reply to: buster2010

Appreciate the thread. Another thing that bothers me is how easily it is forgotten when trouble soldiers come back and lose it....or have some kind of problem...or become anti government. They are discarded and their past bravery counts for nothing.

News flash planes come down easy. Drones too. Teargases can be countered, so they are afraid to use them. Frequencies can be jammed. All can be built for cheap and easy. Most All the equipment and tech out there for the military is already accessible. Especially in war. It can be confiscated. So being trained makes you the only capable ones? BS. I known many that came back trained to fight. Said they learned and knew so much now and could kill with their bare hands easily. A simple sparing match cleared that up for them and they asked for my help. Training / brainwashing maybe. But they must make them confident so they don't run from battle or refuse illegal orders, so i can't blame them.reply to: buster2010

"Guess how we learned those tactics? By fighting other nations not by sitting on the couch playing video games."

Those tactics were not trained by military. Sniper came from hunters. Before that they lined up with their rules of battle in front of one anther. Shot the front row moved up and did it again. Good military training then. By the way there wore bright colors and banged drums and other instruments to let them know they were coming. If it were not for those hillbillies teaching them new tricks we may not have won. Some aspects of war are just as ridiculous today. I have my defenses formerly worked out but i won't disclose as i might f myself. Not only for disclosing info but for screwing my ability to use them. Military could not. with all it tech take care of those tribal s in the hills still. With gorilla fighting. Military will never have the advantage on the whole of a society fighting them. It will last forever. Or until they leave because of losses and expense.

An example of tactics that can be used even peacefully. I ask how would you counter teargas as a crowd dispersant. Not everything is thought of by the trained military. Think outside the box. Answer not required, but no response with my solution without one. I should share this one with the palistinians. I'll think on it. So many solutions to problems i could do. I will help defend. I just don't believe in killing for greed.a reply to: buster2010

In my family, my father served in the Navy (43-45), I served in the Air Force (68-74) and my son is currently serving in the Marine Corps (98-present). All three of us are fortunate enough that we have not fallen into the chasm that afflicts too many of those who have also served.

What is currently taking place regarding some of our veterans, in my mind, is despicable. I believe that it is our obligation as a nation, despite what others in this thread may think, to support those who, politically right or wrong, have stood up for us. To allow what is happening to take place is not what this country professes to be. All of our veterans who require help should receive that help in any way which is reasonably and humanly possible. It is the very least that we should do.

Both my son and I belong to the American Legion. My father belonged when he was still alive. This is one of the many organizations listed in the video that was posted. This is an organization that exists to help address the lapses in support that our government seems to think are unnecessary. I support their mission wholeheartedly with my time and whatever financial support I can spare, as does my son and as did my father when he was alive.

Rather than argue about whether or not the use of force was necessary as the result of a political decision, I would point out that we should take that up with the leaders who make that decision rather than take it out on the men and women who have to carry those decisions out.

Help support the organizations that support our veterans who are in need. Don't leave them on their own.

Thank you for listening.

I just don't get why everyone is all about being all socialist when it comes to vets but when it comes to everyone it is just a crazy stupid idea.

Take care of our vets no problem, lets just extend that kind of caring to everyone.

Where do you think the hillbillies learned those tactics from? From fighting Native Americans. Every tactic our military uses came from fighting with other people.

The higher IQ don't fight, they have other duties. They do test you for placement. Besides there may have been an agenda i do not know. Bet it wasn't protect the USA though. Even if he though he joined for that. any recent history does not play out that way.Trying to push our politics or steal resources i bet. Some people just blindly support their countries actions. Most peoples favorite sports team they route for is chosen why? Because of where they live not because one is better or supports better causes. Might have just been blind loyalty. All i hear is flag waiving not reason.a reply to: gorsestar

Warfare is not simplistic like you think. Some of us prefer to get our hands dirty despite the present danger. Cognitive performance is inversely related to strategic ability and logical problem solving. Napoleon, Hannibal, George Washington, shaka Zulu were mighty men who will forever be remembered because they fought irregardless of cause. What can you say about your self?

I'm just saying you're blasting something you haven't primarily experienced. It make you look foolish.
