Wtf can mean:

What the F
Why the F
Where the F
When the F

BUT....I agree. Every time I see ETA I think estimated time of arrival. I've been having this silent bit of rage about it for years and years!

Though, I wouldn't mind seeing it if people were editing their posts to include responses to pertinent other posters, rather than posting 857 times in one thread to reply to each individual item in a new post.

I suspect part of the problem depends upon which side of the pond you reside upon. The Brits seem to like to use abbreviations more than the rest of us. I remember the first Brit abbreviation I came across when I was young, it was "WC."
Now what the Hell was that supposed to mean. After all, the term "water closet" didn't even make any sense to me whereas "out house" did. As my mind rummages around with nothing more important to keep it busy, it comes to mind that I believe that the abbreviation "TP" is also from the Isles.

Or Alien Terrible Anus (Probe)

P

ETA not ATA!!!!

AAArrrgghhhh!!!! I'm off for a bath.

No matter how hard you scrub, it will not change the meaning of ETA on ATS. You might want some relaxing aromatherapy candles and some whale songs playing in the background to soothe you before reading all of the responses...

Sorry for the 'moronic' bit, I am incredibly hung over.

I feel good for getting that off my chest... the ETA thing, not the hung over thing. Even if it was a bit of a purposeful troll.

Some outrageous things have come out in this thread, not least someone claiming I am intelligent. That is about as true as ETA meaning 'egg timer accident' (I've checked it's not one of the many meanings).

My bath was terrible btw (bath time woes/by the way) - I fell to sleep in it and woke up cold.

Correct. Fried breakfast, followed by fruit, followed by crisps.

I've made a promise to myself to try my hardest not to fight this one with beer.

If you think ETA is bad you'd better not visit me.

When the wife cooks an exceptional meal (which is often) I say "Star and flag babes"

I always thought using ETA: Was a very polite thing to do.

Ham,onions, peppers (red or green) and eggs on toast.
Kind of like an omelet sandwich.

I just hate when they add cheese but I am picky,a western is a western.....when you add cheese, its a western with cheese and not a real western.
