I am just wondering...all this torture...is it wrong? Who knows!!! IS it right? Again who knows?

However, this started directly after 9/11 in 2001.....has America been attacked since the torture was introduced and used against Islamic terrorist suspects??

I don't think it has!!

Will it be since the release of this report??? Possibly...very possibly...So disclosure is a good thing? Because the people of the country sure CAN NOT handle the truth without overreacting!!

There is one point which I think most of us have noticed.

There has been established a very good reason for all the detainment and abuse of these terrorist suspects.

Can you think of a better way to continually inflame the anger and passions of their country men and kin?

It has been stated long ago, these practices help to create more terrorists than there ever were in the beginning. In order to sustain this "war on terror" we need a steady steam of targets and what better way to get young Muslim men willing to join the fight.

Yes torture is wrong and counterproductive , information gained through torture is notoriously unreliable because the person being tortured will tell you what you want to hear to make it stop.

That's just simplistic and wrong , the torture of suspects has neither made you safer nor produced any valuable information.
All that the use of torture has done is lost us the moral high ground and reduced America's standing in the world.

I too am wondering....

If a member of your family was detained and tortured...would it be wrong?

One of the best ways I can think of to lose all credibility....is to defend evil. You just qualified!

Overreacting? I don't think so.

I'm just wondering if/when "we" ever had that "moral high ground"....?.....
My research says otherwise.....

I don't know...

I could post links to torture that was going on, in times of war, far into the past...not just post 9/11.
Does it make torture right, or acceptable.....? Hell no!

Just sayin'......The "moral high ground" argument is not a valid one, imho.

Totally agree with you here though.
Star......since it can't be said enough times to get it to sink into the skulls' of some (well...what appears to be, many)

We the CIA are worried about the safety
of some of our best rapists and mock execution specialists.
So be a patriot and don't TELL people we do that kind of thing.

...they worry about the telling and not the rape so much...

Well, now you are just being plain naive using statements as supposed facts. The torture of suspects could well be very wrong..not for me to decide and I nowhere said in my post it was right OR wrong..i posed two questions. BUT you use the above statement like you are wielding a profound fact.
