I bet they are very confused now and it will have nothing to do with the dementia that most of those in the photo's now have

Levity aside douglas5 dementia is no joke as is our potential to repeat previous mistakes.

If memory serves Einstein once said to repeat the same experiment and expect a different outcome is insanity in itself. That pretty much sums up our current iteration of society. We simply fail to learn from our mistakes or misadventure. So sad yet how very synonymous with the paradigm Humanity follows and has always done. After all you can't teach pork, or so we are so easily lead to believe.

Its like we are destined to fail as a whole. Individual people can be clever, but groups of people? Those are stupidity incarnate.

May I ask why you did not just present the test instead of a rant?

We are in the political mud pit forum, ranting is pretty much part of the dance.

I think that was the original Pledge of Allegiance. No hand on the heart. And I think the Nazis stole that from somewhere else (maybe Julius Caesar?).

ITT: Lots of people making excuses for and trying to explain why they hold so many similar beliefs to Nazis.

Lots of mental gymnastics happening here.

From a historical perspective, I believe the theory of Marx was wrong. He believed capitalist societies would transform into a communist one(the idea of everyone being equal, and the nonexistence of a state). The truth is, capitalist societies transform into scientific dictatorships, with the transitive system being a society very similar to national socialism. Seeing how national socialism, the transitory system, is relatively new, it is not a surprise the first one would fail. America has improved on the idea, with a better chance of success becoming a scientific dictatorship, we will just have to win the next world war.

I guess, for people to understand what America is, in simpler terms: "To defeat the enemy, we had to become the enemy."

Do you have a paper I could read regarding this subject? Marx wrote quite a lot, and if you are going to disagree with him and hope to hold my interest, I am going to need more than an elevator speech. Sincerely, I would like to read a few hundred pages on your rebuttal of Marxism, it could be fascinating.

It's a very simple rebuttal, no need for hundreds of pages of fluff.

Human nature dictates the need for a state, in order to organize society.

I should point out, the actual Manifesto didn't even reach 50 pages in length. He wrote extensively on capitalism(Das Kapital), but that is not what I am criticizing. His assessment of capitalism was very accurate, because capitalism existed. History has shown the true evolution of capitalism, proving Marx wrong.

Except the author in the article in the OP did not list anything that the Nazis ascribed to. HE "Godwin'ed" himself.

All it takes for facsism to rear it's ugly head is for fear to become more prevalent than hope. Once that happens a handful of idiots can point the finger of blame, pit the strong against the weak - cite it all as "natural selection" and revert us back to the same cave dwelling animals we've spent eons trying to cease to be.

One look at modern American should tell any legitimate and honest student of history that we are perilously close to being exactly the sort of meritocracy Hitler would have wept with joy over.

The only real difference is that ghettos in Europe, at that time, were where Jews were expected to live - and who were referred to as animals and subhumans. In America it's the poor - and our ghettos happen to be predominantly black.

LOL. Hitler was for a meritocracy? Seriously? He drove the best minds out of the country because they were Jewish, filled the halls of power with his buddies, and had every sort of social welfare programs imaginable for the people he liked.

He drove the best minds out? So that explains how they were ahead in just about every category of weapons, atomic science and rocketry.

I'm guessing you don't history much.

I read a lot of history. There is a reason why we got the bomb first and it is attributed, in part, to the physicists like Einstein who left because they were Jews.

Speaking of not "doing" history. It was not free market, small government, independent people who brought the Nazis to power but people clamoring for more and more government to "save" them.

Deflection, you didn't address the realities of your misstatement - such as Operation Paperclip or the Russian equivalent. The race to get the great minds of Germany was the primary goal in sacking Berlin as the war on that front was already over.

Nazi Germany was a police state primarily with anything actually socialist falling to a very distant second. Fascism to the root.

Sadly America is still so infected by cold war propaganda that it's nearly impossible for people to see the reality of WW2 due to the anti Russian, cold war era programming and misinformation.
