So this guy might have been trying to help things along?

Sounds like he just hates Arabs...

Later that year, Livix entered Israel, the Justice Ministry said, and told Israeli friends he had strong anti-Arab sentiments. The ministry said Livix later cooperated with his roommate, a serving soldier in the Israeli military, to obtain 1.4 kilograms (3 pounds) of explosive material to blow up the unidentified Jerusalem holy sites. The ministry said police discovered the plot in October.

Needless to say, no matter the intentions, it would be a seriously stupid move to destroy these holy sites...I can only imagine the # that would go down as a result...

And yet ISIS destroys their precious holy sites on a daily basis and films it. Why would Israel get a tongue lashing or worse yet ISIS gets a pass from the Muslim world ?

ISIS gets a pass? ISIS has managed to get the Saudis and Gulf States, Kurds groups, Shia militias, Sunni tribes, Iran, Iraq, the FSA, other radical groups, Hezbollah, Syria among others all bombing and fighting them with the rest of Muslim world mocking and condeming them. I do not know what more you expect them to do.

They pretty much don't have a choice or they will get run over and enslaved in the immediate area. Just a small portion of the total combined wealth of Muslims worldwide could easily muster a response to crush them but it doesn't happen. Instead ISIS grows larger siphoning wealth and manpower directly from them. Nations like Turkey are sitting by and trails of fighters and who knows what else pours through them. The effort is not so large as you say, it is like a token resistance with the people on the immediate front lines fighting and those in power like the Saudi Royals and the Turkish govt only ensuring their survival, not waging all out war on ISIS.

Adam Everett Livvix, a 30-year-old Texan Christian, cooperated with his roommate, an IDF soldier, to get 1.4 kilograms (3 pounds) of explosives, officials say.

He was apprehended in possession of various weapons and explosives that were stolen from the Israel Defense Forces. In October of this year Livvix asked his roommate, an IDF soldier, to procure weapons for him in exchange for money. His roommate managed to bring him a 1.4 kilogram explosive device, for which Livvix paid part of the agreed upon sum.

Wonder how his roommate managed to smuggle 1.4 kilogram of explosives out of an IDF base.

Something like "Fake US Navy Seal charged in Israel, plotted to blow up Muslim Holy Sites". That way you have a general idea and can decide if you want to read about it.

Christianists.

Cuz blowin up things is gonna bring back the God of Peace, right?

Not defending him but conversely blowing ones self up helps Allah how?

In this thread we are talking about a Christianist not an Islamist. If you are really interested in understanding motivations and history of suicide bombers, I would suggest this concise essay on the subject as a starting point.

Most people would but the OP saw where I was coming from and changed it. That's very rare. Much appreciated.
