And that is perfectly fine. However if I wear a my shirt that says "roll me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians" I get funny looks all night? Double standards.

I'd gladly give up my "custody trump card" if it meant true equality. Were I younger, I'd even consider going infantry. I was pretty good with firearms growing up in rural New Mexico, but I wouldn't call myself a sharpshooter though. Would I share bunks, showers, bathrooms etc with men? Yes to all excepting showers. And I'd even concede showers if they were separate stalls. In the field would be different, obviously. I'm talking in the barracks.

Also, regarding your previous post, you're correct. I don't NEED a man, in the same senes a man doesn't NEED a woman. I get by just fine on my own. Of course, I'd like to someday find the right person to share my life with, but that like all things will come on it's own time. I'm not actively looking for a relationship, and I'm fine with that. But I don't NEED a man in my life. I pay my own bills, make my own food, have my own fun, etc.

Or better yet.

"I bath in Female Tears" How well would that go over?

You would, do your fellow feminists feel the same way? Infantry isn't just about being good with a gun. In fact, it's more about being able to tab 30-40 miles a day with 130lbs of kit on your back. It's more about being able to pick up your wounded comrade, and carry him (with his kit) on your back across open ground under enemy fire. I weigh nearly 180lbs. plus my kit is over 300lbs. Could you honestly drag or carry me without getting us both killed? With seperate showers EVERY single facility would need to be modified to even handle that. Who is going to fund that?

I am not actively looking for a woman to share my life with. If I happen to find a lady with the same interests and goals, I'm happy to settle down.

Just doesn't seem to be that many classy ladies left, and I'm sure women feel there isn't any gentlemen left (I for one, am still a gentleman) but hey. Lets just divide the sexes even more until we hate each other. Seems legit.

I call # how I see it, and I am happy to be corrected with decent evidence to the contrary. There are women in our armed forces, and they do their jobs damned well. I just cant see enough women wanting to be a grunt to make up the numbers to even bother changing the rules. You can't make battalions uni sex, how about the living arrangements, showering etc? You think women will want to share with a bunch of laddish men? No. If we changed our rules tomorrow on women being infantry, how many applications do you think they would get?

Do you really think that women will also give up their custody trump card? Again, I'm going to have to say no.

Here in the US, that experiment is being conducted yet gain. And it's not going that well.

But we do have uni-sex barracks with men's floors and women's floors. I actually lived on the women's floor for three years (Aviation Unit) and was the only male to do so. Lack of billeting they said. It was a nuisance to have to go to the second floor to do my daily three S'es. LOL

I was thinking more front line. FoB's etc. Where you literally share a bunker with your squad, or at best a tent at Bastion. Showers are shared out there, or in a river, again with your squad. Here in civilization its easy to separate people into living quarters as there is plenty of room for this to happen.

FoB's are much tighter, often not being able to house everything they need. What would happen then?

Some random thoughts while reading this tortured thread:

~ We need to get away from this ultimately unattainable word "Equality". Everyone seems to think it means tit-for-tat, men and women in lockstep for everything. How about "Respect for Uniqueness"? It's OK if a man is hetero but likes to cook. It's OK if a woman wants to stay home and raise her kids. It's OK if a high-powered hetero man lives for and thru his Career, and prefers to watch porn or use prostitutes instead of getting married. It's OK if a couple prefer to just live together and not get married.

~ For guys going into a new relationship with a woman, CHECK OUT HER FRIENDS. To many young people are getting bad advice from one spoiler/hater in their "circle of friends". Trust your own gut feelings when you meet someone you want to get to know better. If it works out, great. If it doesn't, chalk it up to "another speed-bump in the road of Life" and move on.

~ There's been talk that populations will create barriers when reaching over-population. Wars and disease are the most obvious population-limiting factors. But today we've got radical homosexuals viciously pushing atheism and their "rights," which seem to trump hetero rights and even common sense. And a bad economy with too many young people still living at home, who don't get out to meet other young people. Those are population-limiting factors too. Amid all the chaos and confusion, people just want to isolate - and get depressed. Our dystopian future is here and now. (So get some on-line relationships going thru hobbies/passions!)

~ The one-night-stand "hook-up" culture seems to have moved beyond even that emotionless, temporary involvement. Too many people are withdrawing from any contact with the opposite sex, from reading the posts in this depressing thread.

hmmm..you want to go that far back okay! But well what I said about teaching being one of the few occupations that was opened to women is even more true... and well in most cases the women couldn't be married.

my grandmother had only six years of formal education also. My dad went 12 years and I've seen many of his report cards he never seemed to have a problem in school! And guess what he did after school?? He came home and sat with his mom and his grandmother and sewed!! That's right he sewed!! Quilts and whatever else they could sell so they could have food and a roof over their head! Ya see his father had deserted them when you was so young he didn't even know who his father was (athough it turns out his father live about six blocks away from him!) That is how my father and my grandmother along with her mother made it through the depression.....that sat together every night and they sewed!!!

So well guess your stereotypical crap just doesn't pan out when necessity kicks in does it?

The schools were much stricter back then. If it's so unnatural for boys to be able to sit still and learn why didn't they have a problem back then?

Also, porn stars. or "adult entertainers" as they want to be known as. You have 15 year old boys who have access to the most sadistic and unreal amount of sex they will ever need. You wonder why the younger generation doesn't respect women? They watch videos of women being essentially #ed 6 ways from Sunday in every position known the man (and then some).

The same women that says that it "empowers" them, same for strippers. A vast majority of women PRESENT themselves as objects to men, and somehow its our fault we fell for this? Please, if you get your tits out, we will look. It is hard coded into men.

Perhaps if ALL women were to come together for the same goal, it wouldn't be so bad. You cant educate young men who have access to the ball slappenist porn if all women don't take the same stand.

Naw, I was with a very decent woman for many many years, almost got married. Until, like every woman, snaps.

Because most men don't put a woman in her place, emotions run wild.

Why do you think a woman has never been president?

Are you telling me that when your on the rag( I think your a woman). And you throw a knife at me because of whatever excuse you'll use, and I retaliate In defense force.. I will go to jail 100%

Through my experiences on my own and my friends, there's not a god damn thing I can do.

Did you write your reply based on truth or emotions?

Wow. Some truly baffling statements.

Men, women, materialism... Our world needs to end.

You mistake me for a feminist. I am not. Do I want equality? Sure. I believe most women do.

Regarding your post; if I have the physical ability to demonstrate my capability to as you described, I should have the ability to serve just as you do. I even made concession on the showers part, so long as I have a stall I can shower in, rather than big open "locker room" style deals. so really the only "accommodation" I would need is two cheap walls in the corner of a shower room if it doesn't already have it.

Thing is, he doesn't speak for us men. You take one man's baffling statement and attach it to all men. Men are just as prone to snap as women are. Thing is I have learnt over many failed relationships is that "most" women aren't for me. I don't do one night stands, I hold open doors for women, I'm polite, help them with prams up stairs etc.

So why is it, a "nice" guy (subjective, I guess) attracts the worst type? I see the most beautiful, smart women with men that cheat, abuse and generally treat them like #.

Nice guys finish last, while women complain there are no good guys left. Go figure.

I am all for equality. If you can pull me 100 meters across open ground under enemy fire without getting yourself killed, you have my respect. The thing is though, you have your own "stall". suddenly everyone else wants one, and they are kicking up a stink.

I can tell you one thing for nothing, that every single soldier that serves wants some "alone time" whether that be to masturbate, take a crap or just read a book, everyone wants some space to themselves out there. Problem? Not enough room.

All of a sudden, moral has dipped and you're resented for being treated differently or "better".

Ever think of it that way?

Pornography, in some form, has existed since cave paintings were a thing. Sure, we have HD quality porn so we can the mites on the pubes of the stars, but it's still just pictures. Moving pictures, but pictures. Porn really isn't the issue. Also, men AND women enjoy porn. A lot of women just don't care to admit it. Why is it the women who must make a stand against porn? Porn is a two way street. Doesn't it also "degrade" men? Why aren't men standing up everywhere against it?

The porn argument is flimsy.

That sounds like a logistical issue, and not a issue of my willingness to pull my own weight. Say I don't get those two cheap little walls. How would it affect the male troops to have a female showering right there in the open shoulder to shoulder with them? I'm sure a lot of them would get a kick out of it, sure, but some would be uncomfortable. So really, the "morale" issue has to be addressed, and fixed.

The porn argument is highly relevant. In this digital age, where HD porn can be viewed on your phone at any time i would say that is a big factor. If you also look at how violent porn has got over the past decade, and how parenting has gone by the way side, young men essentially are learning sex education via porn.

They watch it a lot, become numb to the fact the woman is just thrown around, put into positions and generally dominated. Add to that the amount of gang bang # you see, and wonder why gang rape has risen?

Young men don't see this as a problem because they aren't being told any differently. If a man watches porn from 15-25, I'm sorry but you can't tell me that wont affect his growth, ie how he views women.

Why aren't men standing up against porn? Too busy doing high fives at a seemingly easy job. Men will gloat to eachother about being a pornstar. Go figure.

low hanging fruit
and most women (well people in general really) mistake kindness for weakness and make the false assumption that when something comes up that actually matters you are going to treat it in the same way (just bend over)

the real problem being people rarely think
they just react and dont dwell on why

the world has changed immensely in a short period of time
unfortunately our physiology and psychology has not

I'm old fashioned in that sense. My dad brought me up well.

Yep, downrange is a different story, and everything seems magnified to include the sexual drama. I think it would be great if we could live life in the military like portrayed in "Starship Troopers" and "Aliens". But the mental mindset has yet to evolve to that point.
