New Emoticons or we riot!

Well maybe not, but I'm under the weather today and yesterday so have been bed ridden and killing time on ATS, which has meant race rioting threads pretty much so I'm in the riot zone.

In this time, I've been in dire need of emoticons that don't suck.

Of all the the boards in the world ATS is my favourite and yet I am ashamed of our lame emoticons. Ashamed I tell you.

I can't tell the difference in eye squints and smiles, there is no dancing banana, exploding bomb, just a bunch of square headed stupids.

What say ye all ?

We need a Bob Dobbs emoticon. How many times I've wanted to say Slack Off! and screw them if they can't take a joke and then I realize saying it would be paying homage to The Conspiracy.

Emoticons bore me. They're just another step towards that Orwellian doublespeak language. Less words, less intelligence.

I still support the Bob Dobbs emoticon. I'm so against The Conspiracy I can't fathom how the Slack it's done.

One only needs to express themselves with words, as every emoticon can be expressed in language. There is enough to express sarcasm, hate, laughter, etc. To require more shows a lack in vocabulary and writing skills. Idiotic symbols that bring no relevance to a statement needed to convey messages to literate individuals above the Daniel Tiger taught population. Grow up. Emoticons are childish. They should be used at minimal to express an emotion not conveyed in a literal message.

Could we just have the old ones back?

When I was new to the internet chat world emoticons confused me. I still get confused by the xD one. Sometimes it means laughter, sometimes it means frustration. There's times I just want to ask the person, are you happy or are you sad? Do you really think your thoughts are so dime a dozen they can be condensed into a popular little icon?
