I had a girl beside me get her long hair stuck in an 8 a few years ago. Fortunately I ALWAYS have two bachmann prusiks on my harness for emergency assent so it wasn't a big deal.

Santa should have known better. There was no edge trauma for him so he obviously had some experience.
