MiGs escort Sukhois all the time.
It doesn't matter if Su-34s were there or not. It's another example of a stupid move during an intercept that should have been routine. Sooner or later there's going to be an accident, or someone will pull the trigger.
The video is filmed from the cockpit of a Norwegian F-16 aircraft, and is taken up in international airspace last year.
It shows how a Russian MIG-31 fighters suddenly folds into front of one of the Norwegian F-16 aircraft from 331 Squadron.

And? So since it was last year it wasn't a stupid move? Again, it was another stupid move that is going to eventually lead to something happening.

I think it was only recently announced that there were -31 in the group when the HUD footage was released..
Here are two reports, one from early November and the other more recent after the footage came out:

Because we never had to intercept a high altitude, high speed aircraft.

Iran probably can fly 2 maybe 3 F-14s at this time, and that's over estimating. The US cut support so parts became scarce and there are stories that many were sabotaged. Only way they can get parts is to re-engineer them or use existing airframes for donor parts.
Probably why they still rock the F-4 Phantom because so many were built and sold to other countries so Iranians can buy from them.
