I would ask them to tell me about the closest humanoid civilization to Earth (our nearest neighbor, in other words) Don't care if they're xenophobic, welcoming, cruel, enlightened, etc, I just want to know about their culture, history, what they look like.

I would ask "Please explain every facet of your understanding of science and technology in such a way that all Earth scientists will be able to receive the information, understand it, and apply it to the problems facing our species".

I would ask what the world would be like if it wasn't being run by a bunch of power crazy crooks and charlatans.

I once had an epiphany that a problem had already been solved, and I knew the answer, but I couldn't remember the question. It has nagged at me for decades. My question would be, "What do I already know?"

I know it's cliche, but I would ask: Is there an omniscient, omnipresent creator god who acts in ways that our religions describe and what is the scientific proof of the answer?

Knowing this answer for certain would solve a lot of the world's issues, although there are still those who would believe one way or the other, regardless.

I'd ask who they work for.

the bearded teachers of old whom global ancient folklore suggest gave the knowledge of science,agriculture and astronomic knowledge to our so called primitive ancestors?
