Banner ads on ATS are driving me crazy!

I understand that ATS needs advertising to keep this wonderful site running, but having banners blocking my view overtop of threads so that I cannot read what people are saying is frustrating. I joined ATS to get rid of the ads not to have them even more in the way, then to put an ad over a banner for Next level BS a thread I particularly don't read borders on down right rudeness. The top ads and side ads I have no problem with as they don't intrude on my reading a particular thread I am interested in but why in heck do we need something splashed across our faces.

I don't normally complain a lot but this has really gotten under my skin for some odd reason and I just needed to vent.

Thanks

I don't have a problem with ads when on my PC, but on my tablet or phone it is a different story. I don't allow my PC to visit AD sites so that is probably the main reason.

I mainly use my tablet as i am away from home a lot due to work and it seems that every time I change pages up pops that darn banner again my desktop is used strictly for documents and spreadsheeting I don't even have it connected to the internet.

There is a lot of times I get the message that a pop up ad is trying to come through.
Thankfully, cell phones these days come with blockers that allow us to choose whether we want to allow or block that pop up.
Like you say, the side and top ads don't get in the way, but I'm happy I don't get the screen taken over too.

Most browsers have a function that lets you disable popup pages. This isn't just helpful Vs. ads, but against any webpage that attempts to take over your browser session.

There is a thread to complain about annoying or overly large ads. It is best to post there, as the site owners and admins are far more likely to see it - and take any necessary action to alleviate the issue if it is posted there.

This thread will likely be closed at some point. Before that happens, please let me strongly emphasize that discussing ad blocking is strictly against the Terms and Conditions of use of ATS.

I hope this helps.

Banners are not too bad but I am getting a new web page opening for a betting site (Bet365) whenever I click on ATS, it is actually putting me off the site and that is just infuriating, pop up pages from third party site's can be malware portals among other thing's.
Correction the advert page appear's when I click the login button.

I agree. The awful ad for that horrible movie a short while back was the worst. I couldn't even see the options list at the top of the page, and if I tried to get rid of it all it did was take me to more of the horrifically horrible movie ad.

Ads are necessary, but pop ups that cover what you are trying to read and block where you want to go - and if you try to get rid of them reroute you are the absolute worst.

Worst of all most of the ads that are the worst offenders are directed toward adolescent males and so are generally gross movie ads, sometime downright nearly porn ads, the car ones lately though have not been to awful, but get in the way and I actually find myself getting angry with the advertisers who mess up my view. I wouldn't see any movie, ever, that did what the movie ad that was on not too long ago did and block being able to go anywhere.

Did I mention that the words ad and block, when combined, are bad? I think that might need reiteration.

20b) Ad Blockers: As the Websites are provided as a free service, in part through the income of our advertising, you agree not to use "ad-blocking" software or similar built-in web browser options designed to obfuscate or block online advertising while using the Websites.
