I suspect that this incident was a calculated distraction. This distraction allows the next DHS nominee to be ushered in without objection.

Well that's what I was thinking, this just paves the way for some worse mongrel to come in and cause haveck! If that is how you spell it I don't really know. I wen't to an all you can eat place tonight and they had all you can drink too!!!!!!!!!

I think this Kerick guy was too 'homebreed' what I mean by this is he is too involved and probably too nationilist thinking, not internationalist. For DHS we need to have someone who not only knows about the treat within but the threat from outside the borders...I don't think a NY Cop can do that. That's probably why we are pushing for a cabinet-level intelligence position
