Yosemite OS X

It may be me, but by updating to Yosemite it appears my Mac has suddenly gone all android phone on me.
Besides the whole look of the thing ( butt ugly) I can't get my Mac preferences to open....
I can't even customize this pig.
(screamed in a tone only dogs 5 miles away can hear!!)

right now my second issue is full site addresses are no longer visible.....isn't this counterproductive in case you need the wayback machine?

Someone who could assist would be greatly appreciated.

i had all sorts of trouble after updating to yosimite, I followed these directions and it working amazingly well now.

there is also a patch update for yosi to fix the wifi issues

SP wouldn't open till I agreed to the dreaded cloud....no I wouldn't think this could be related, but that's how it went. Once I agreed ( under protest I might add) SP opened right up.

I'm surprised more Mac users here on ATS didn't chime in?
