Sounds to me like a colorful description of a device similar to the Antithykera Mechanism... maybe those numbers correspond to gears that make astronomical calculations.

Adam didnt ever receive anything from the tree of life.. He chose the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.. Had he chose life, there wouldn't have been a fall. That and we would never die..

This book is totally occultic and holds very little truth if any..

It's a riddle. Adam gave names to all the animals, also the serpent and he also named Eve. The name for serpent in Hebrew also means Knowledge, while Eve means Life. Eve ate from the hand of the serpent (Knowledge of Good and Evil) while Adam ate from the hand of Eve (Life). Notice how only the serpent and Eve are cursed. Adam isn't cursed, the Earth is cursed in his place. Because Adam tricked God, the Serpent and Eve all together, reaching out and eating from the Tree of Life and humanity gained eternal life through cleverness.

What of Melek Taus then? Surely the entity behind this name is more than just the planet Venus?

And if one were to ask Blavatsky, Lucifer would actually have been a Venusian originally, that would explain that correlation.

Where does this idea of a rebellious Archangel truly originate?

It's confusing enough and that's without even mentioning Satan and Shemyaza.

In Buddhist cosmology Māra is actually the ruler of the desire realms, that would include a lot of heavens.

Disclaimer: I am by no means knowledgeable on this subject, just trying to get some puzzle pieces in place by asking questions.

I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”[ESV] Psalms 2:7-9

Not exactly a new idea...

Sounds like some kind of Hebrewified Babylonian solar deity. Honestly I never heard of the angel Taus. Is he the same as the Mesopotamian Tau? Tau or rather Tav or ת is also the last letter in the Hebrew alefbet.

And if one were to ask Blavatsky, Lucifer would actually have been a Venusian originally, that would explain that correlation.

The thing is that in Latin, Lucifer as a noun means lit. 'Morningstar' or even 'Morning'. Angels and kings are referred to as 'morningstars', and planet Venus is called 'the morning star' when it conjuncts with the Sun every 584 days. It's a title, an astrological one. To say when the concept of Lucifer evolved is hard to say, but Lucifer is by no means limited in use to a nickname for the Dragon. In the Biblia Sacra or the Latin Vulgata, the official bible of the Roman Catholic Church, 1Peter 1:19 reads as follows:

In Latin:
et habemus firmiorem propheticum sermonem cui bene facitis adtendentes quasi lucernae lucenti in caliginoso loco donec dies inlucescat et lucifer oriatur in cordibus vestris[VUL]

and in English:
And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, [ESV]

Lucifer is a nickname. Catholic sweet-talk. Same with the word or nickname Devil. It means literally God, same as Romani Devel, Latin Devs, Greek Theos, Sanskrit Deva, it's the same word you find in words like Divine and Deify. It first showed up around the same time the Gypsies arrived to Europe. They identified with the Egyptians (hence the name) and refused to settle down and pay taxes, so the Europeans demonised them and turned their word for God into a common word for Satan. Makes sense when you think about it.

Now that's a whole thread worth. Put one together and I'll gather my notes.

Thanks for your elaboration. I knew about the name, what I'm really trying to do is track the legend of the fall of Lucifer back for as long as our history permits. I'm trying to do the same thing with Lilith but it's the most confusing mess I think I've encountered. Quite frustrating since I'm not much of a scholar either so.. I'm still young though, so maybe it'll make sense some day.

Melek Taus is the prime Archangel that the Yezidis worship, you know the ones ISIS have been busy slaughtering.
They call him the Peacock Angel and he's basically Lucifer/Shaitan/Iblis(?)..

Some have correlated him with certain Gods of other religions, among them Skanda, Amitabha and Sanat Kumara.

I'm not really into starting threads, too much monitoring and I'm really bad at being social, but I'll consider it, if you're not willing yourself? I don't feel like I have enough knowledge to stand on.

Sure would like to see your notes though.

The Fall myth is ancient. Like with the Flood mythos, the War in Heaven myth is tied up to major cataclysms in human history and finding these myths' origins is hard, if not impossible.

The Flood I have managed to track to the event when the Mediterranean burst open the Bosphorus Strait and turned when was once a nice little freshwater lake into what is now the Black Sea. According to William Ryan and Walter Pitman in their book 'Noah's Flood' p.149, this event happened some 7,600 years ago.

The Fall I relate either to Babylonian astrology where the 'Fall of Lucifer' is a recurring and central event -- OR -- we are talking about a rock or a snowball falling from space causing havoc. But since this is ATS-- we could naturally be talking about some accident involving ancient flying machines or space ships, or even the violent but controlled crash landing of one. And that brings us to the Indus civilisation and the ancient Indus Sanskrit archive (see link below). Common is that there is a war in the heavens, a chief angel of the highest order falls like a fireball to the ground and typically, the war continues on Earth. In the ancient Indian stories, they speak of bombs dropped from the air that contaminated the water sources and could destroy whole cities. Several different types of air-vehicles are mentioned, there is even an ancient Indian book in Sanskrit referencing to different service-manuals and go into detail about different ship designs, engine types, functions on the onboard computers, like radar and stealth, controlled environment in the cockpit, and plenty other references.

apnisoch.wordpress.com...

"The ancient Indian epics go into considerable detail about aerial warfare over 10,000 years ago. Aerial battles and chases are common in ancient Hindu literature."

I trace the Flood to Mesopotamia around 5 500 BC and the Fall to Indus c. 7 000 BC.

No problem. I'd love to see what you come up with. The Kaba in Mecca is said to have come falling down from the sky as far as I know. Same with Ayers Rock in Australia. I'd look for a large meteorite crater somewhere in the Near East, and look for clues in the Vedas. And I know, the Veda library is huge. I only own the Rig Veda meself, and have merely leaved through it reading a few snippets here and there, but apparently, the ancient Veda people were airborne. Apparently there were three classes of flying machines; flying cars, intercontinental planes and spaceships. Please let me know if you find out anything about this

I read somewhere that the Kaba rock is supposed to be the emerald that fell from Lucifer's crown, interesting myth if nothing else.

To be honest I really don't have much at this point, I would like to inquire by other non conventional means but that could take some time as I'm incredibly lazy.

It will probably take years but If I find anything particularly interesting I will try to remember you and write you a U2U.

Yes, or just share it somewhere here on ATS

Genesis contains nearly all the major myths people relied on for their origin and purpose, and it's all encoded into Genesis 1, which can be seen as a poetical midrashic abstract of the Torah. There is the primordial chaos myth reflected in the first verses. This chaos is transformed into order, when light turns night into day, synchronism. There is the Fall and the Flood myths, the proto-human myth (Adam and Eve), and a bunch of other myths that can be found all over the world, even in the most remote regions, in one form or another. Genesis calls the first two humans Adam and Eve. Edda speaks of Ask and Embla (notice the similar aliteration, A and E) and so on. Look for the Ouroboros, the serpent biting its tail, you find it wherever there are Flood and Fall myths.

I should probably add or say that Sefer ha-Razim means literally 'The Book of Mysteries'. The name Raziel means Mystery of God or El.
