A California solar plant is only producing half of the electricity it was expected to deliver. Apparently the sun not shining is a big factor.
They must run gas boilers for 4 and a half hours a day on average to keep producing electricity.

hopefully they will figure out the tech issues that have been a problem but good luck getting the sun to corporate.
On a side note, this is the type of field that has been cooking birds that fly over.

From your source:

"Factors such as clouds, jet contrails and weather have had a greater impact on the plant than the owners anticipated," the agency said in a statement. Read more here: www.idahostatesman.com...=cpy

Really? Did they really do their homework on this project?

Problems could include getting the thousands of mirrors pointed in precisely the right direction, especially in the cool early morning, or keeping them clean in the dusty Mojave Desert.

The design of the plant hinges entirely on pointing the mirrors precisely..... and they are saying that this presents a problem? Might have wanted to have addressed that problem before building a 2.2 BILLION dollar plant???
They built the plant in the dusty Mojave desert and they are surprised that it might be dusty. Ok.

This comes down to the percentage of Reflection they are able to generate from the panels not the Sun. They really need to think about where they are buying the reflective panels, because although they can get the price way down, it does nothing in the long run.. I made some panels for White Sands missle range, and had a reflective percentage of over 95%. We also experimented with Germanian instead of silver in the mirror and worked way way better.

Funny how clouds are a problem for solar. Next they will be saying wind is a problem for wind farms.

They cash millions in government checks and then declare bankruptcy laughing all the way to the bank. How many times have we seen this?

Well at least theres no possibility it will explode or where to store the radioactive waste. Factor that into the "cost" per kilowatt hour.

Maybe its cheaper?

They lied about that, too.

Very true, They need to create an Insentive to get into the feild, but unfortunetly people find the loop holes rather quickly and know the entire time, that they can use all the government money to do these contracts, but if it doesnt work out, Oh Well not there money. Sad thing, Is they use up the smaller companies to figure out ways to achieve these desires, promising huge profiting jobs, only for them to get used up and pushed aside. We did a lot of solar jobs, but dont here anything about solar anymore.

Yeah, look for a big government bail out and then bankruptcy proceedings soon.
That's the usual M.O.

You should know how this works by now. We have to build before we know it will work.

Plus it incinerates birds and is a danger to pilots.

This just proves that the treehuggers have been wrong for a long time in saying that the US can meet its power needs with solar and wind.

No, it proves we have to keep working on renewable energy. I find it ridiculous how anti science people are today. We got to the moon right? I bet we can figure out renewable energy.

Between solar, wind, tidal, and geothermal energy we can power the whole planet easily. We just lack the willpower to actually do it.

" California solar plant needs more sun "

The irony of a solar plant using excessive amounts of water and gas to make electricity.

Especially during a drought.

An engineering marvel indeed.

What happens when an earthquake levels the thing?

If the wind blows too fast, they have to shut down the turbines, otherwise they explode and disintegrate violently

maybe some thing to do with chem trails?

The trails reduced my meager production7panels today to about 25%' the trails are becoming a nuisance. Heavy trails past nine days, withe the weekend being clear without chemtrails.any thoughts about the ATS book Chemtrail section?

And it cannot be contrails why?

Well , Sir, I guess the increased trail activity could be contrails, becaus im know expert , but think they are the srm type of trails due to lite green transparent haze, purley observation, peppered with speculation.
But Sir.NetWorkDude De ATS Debunkery, I would like to hear your responce on the Jim Marrs ATS book / Chemtrail section.pg 101? I belive this section is too small, more in fo can be found in some of the Wrabbit2k·s threads....

What I have learned is that the SRM program is still in the planning stages and EVERYONE involved is concerned about the negative side affects that are as of now, unknown. Look up David Keith. He is the main idea guy with this and he really doesn't want it done.

But aside from all the hype about what could be, you still have aircraft contrails, looking like, and behaving exactly like aircraft contrails.

SRM would be done above 50K feet and my guess is, that from the ground, the only thing you would notice is a dimmer sky. Don't stop your research because you think you found something that fits your bias, go all the way and look at it from all angles. I and many others are concerned about anyone starting SRM or any other geo-engineering programs due to the fact that the Earth may not need our help in that regard. And anything we do, may backfire and screw us all in the process.

And remember, those selling books need juicy content to fill those pages. just as those with shiny donation buttons on their sites need gullible folks to push it. Be weary of anyone looking to profit from your fears.

Aircraft contrails are not a government conspiracy.

The same oil companies that make jet fuel have a stake in dimming the sun over the desert power plants so they can sell more oil.
