Where is my prostate cancer awareness month?

September

To me it seems that white men are the only majority left, thus they don't get any special treatment.

When they get special treatment, they don't even realize it. White men in the US have gotten special treatment since the beginning of this country. And when someone else gets what they've had all along? They cry like babies.

The idea that you are for us or against us....I don't like it any more than you do. Really don't. I am pointing out the simple default position in not voting.

Folks bitched about Obama getting elected last time but apparently the ever dire consequences of him getting elected were no noticed by what 75% of the non-voting registered republicans? And I recall not hearing near the amount of two party fallout talk two years ago. But still where were they?

Well I, personally, won't vote for the lesser of two evils. Evil is evil to me. Voting to see how far the throttle is depressed on the road to hell doesn't exactly thrill me. I'll let the ignorant voters do that for me.

It simply looks to me like much the complaining about the two party system now is coming from folks that are really saying...."wow wouldn't it be great if we didn't have the republicans to worry about. Just one party. Our Party". Like some countries.....several candidates but all from the same party.

You aren't talking about me with this comment. I think options are a good thing. I want MORE political parties, not less political parties. Right now we have the Democrats and the Republicans as the two major parties. There are also the Green and Libertarian parties from the left and the right respectively that people can choose from. But other than those 4 parties, we have no other choices. I'm pretty sure the totality of America can't be distilled down to four ideologies.

And folks talking about 3rd parties.....knowing that 3rd parties effect the republican ticket the most. Result....strong 3rd parties means democrats get elected. And like the Green Party, Communist Party, Socialist Party, Constitutional Party are not partisan.

Actually that rhetoric only works for more conservative leaning political parties like Liberatians. If the Green party could figure out how to make some headway, it would split the Democrat vote since it is more left leaning.

I don't think there should be any law banning the portrayal of stereotypes on TV. We have the right to free speech, not the right to not be offended. If scrubbing bubbles wants to protray a housewife getting worked up about the grime on her floors, there's nothing wrong with that. Feminists are going to whine and complain, but what about all the real, actual houswives out there that actually do mop their floors?

Same thing with every other race/religion/culture/minority. If the shoe fits for some, they shouldn't complain when they all get portrayed a certain way. I'm tired of political correctness being used to bludgeon our right to free speech.

IMO "political correctness" is just a form of mind control. It teaches people to think a certain way - the government approved way. The only way to keep our society from devolving mentally, emotionally and spiritually is to fight against it.

A long time ago, when I was young, the Democrats were the party of the working person, the Republicans were the party of management.

To have a strong working class, you need strong businesses. Think about it. Both factions need to work together to have a strong economy.

Now, the world has been turned upside down. We have multi millionaires claiming to be Democrats trying to raise the minimum wage. But they can't tell the difference between someone making minimum wage and $50 per hour. It's all peanuts to them. We have Hilary Clinton saying that businesses don't create jobs.... Who does?

Meanwhile, the Republicans have also lost focus. They seem more interested in blocking reproductive rights then working on strengthening the economy.

Both parties seem to want uncontrolled immigration of uneducated people.

When I do to vote, I'm faced with decisions about choosing the lessor of two evils. Right now, I see the Democrats as more evil then the Republicans..

For 1: The OP, We cannot read that story because we are not a digital member of the Chicago Tribune, and I will be damned if I'm going to sign up for some Chicago newspaper.

Second, he is not over thinking anything, because it is true. If there was a commercial of a bunch of black guys getting hyped up for a football game, SOME Black group would be up in arms because it stereotypes blacks as only being able to play football or something retarded like that, and that is not a stretch. This is exactly what is going on. You cannot put any minority in a negative light any more because someone would be offended. White men are the only group that are allowed to be portrayed negatively in today's version of racist society.
