www.youtube.com...

So apparently, this cat likes to meow and it has a twin sibling.
The owners left the cat alone for the first time in 3 years and left a camera behind to record what happened.

My cat started freaking and looking for the noise as soon as she heard it

I'm going to keep playing it to see if she replies to the cat in the video haha

EDA I can't stop laughing at my cat's reaction

The cat sounded happy that he was no longer alone at the end.

Lonely cats aren't "weird", just sad.

Your cat hears the sounds of stress in its calls.

Alrighty!
The 2 female cats here came to computer ASAP!
The 2 males lifted their heads (this interrupted nap time) blinked and gave me the look " suck it up buttercup" and proceeded to resume napping.

I can only think your little guy has great potential as a chick-magnet.

I have a kitty who calls and talks just like this for about 10 minutes every night after all the lights go out and the humans are in bed.

"Hey! Where'd everyone go? Why are you all sleeping? You had all day to sleep! What's wrong with you? This is boring!"

Then he brings me a toy offering, and settles down for the rest of the night.

Missy just sort of twitched in her sleep. Teddy actually looked disturbed and looked around a bit then he got up and sniffed at Missy as if to make sure it wasn't her. Peeps never showed up.

Animals stress when a long time friend disappears. It happens to humans, too.
I've seen a dog refuse to eat for 2 weeks after its mother died.
