I have experimented in the past with sensory deprivation tanks, various hallucinogenic drugs, sleep deprivation, hypnosis, meditation, lucid dreaming,
I have attempted to guess cards from a basic 78 card Rider Waite tarot deck during these states (or just after in the case of sense dep, lucid
dreaming and meditation) and, while there have been slight fluctuations in my accuracy, nothing could ever be attributed to anything more than just
I've also had my brain waves monitored while in different states (specifically meditation, sleep deprivation, and fasting), which was interesting if
nothing else. It mostly mirrored what was expected, which is roughly the same thing everyone else finds when doing these tests.
I've also played around in other ways, but what I've mentioned are the most 'scientific' experiments I've done.
Experiences of altered states do vary wildly, but I've never had a religious or paranormal experience that convinced me i was actually experiencing
anything more than my own subconscious.
Although, and while i detest the term ''third eye'' so i wont use it, i do believe i have become more attuned with my own reality and sense of self.
Sensory deprivation specifically is a must for anyone who practices meditation or just wants to learn more about themselves.
