Care to add some more for those that may not know what this is supposed to mean?
I have a feeling it is some doom porn.

Giant sunspot 2192 is back

If you say "it's back", when was it there in the first place and where did it go?

What a great thread OP.........Posts like this suck. Your title is longer than you explanation. Maybe you could add a little bit of detail or something.

All it means really is that there may be some flares and CMEs and if they are directed towards earth there will be HF radio blackouts and aurora.

In the worst type of scenario, which is unlikely, then we could have power outages. But no reason to be bugging out anywhere.

2192 is the largest sunspot in 25 years it was the one responsible for several small x flares and a a few m class flares a few weeks ago, and as of tomorrow it will be coming back into a Earth facing position.

Ed Dames claims its the beginning of the kill shot:

Ed Dames on C2C is stating the kill shot has begun with sunspot AR2192

It sure does look wicked coming around the sun like that!

you know what, I played 30 min or more to upload that pic only for people like you to say that? If I hate the public activity in forums it is because of people like you. And if I continue doing the good work, it is because of the rest of people who may never write a line but who have the right to know.
I didn't say it is the kilshot. You want me to say it, no I didn't.
"Giant sunspot 2192 is back" says it all. I have nothing more to add for people like you who will find enough wording to attack again and again. I am not here for that.

I wonder if there are any prizes in-between bankrupts.

I think all people are saying is to add a bit more data into the opening post. We all have to remember (I forget sometimes) that there are lots of people viewing these threads, ten for every person that's signed in as a member, and many of them have no background knowledge in the subjects we are discussing. I didn't know what the number meant, for example, and if I didn't know then at least one other person didn't know. So giving everyone a clear summary of a topic fulfills one of the hats we put on when we come here - that of journalist (or, literally, editor: one who chooses and presents a topic for the public to read about), a profession which used to be honored in some circles (Stonehenge?). Thanks, and thanks for the topic selection. Hopefully, and best case scenario, it will end up to be an unimportant one.

Did it get any bigger does anyone know? The last cycle it gave off a lot of flares, but no CME's interestingly.

Makes me think it may be building up for a big release.

Someone up there said "maybe some power outages"... followed by "nothing to bug out about". Respectfully disagree..

I mean I'm not bugging out already, but there is a very fine line between "some power outages" and total breakdown of electrical infrastructure when it comes to large CME's. If it's enough to black out one part of the earth it needs very little additional force to black out large areas or entire grids, so this is definitely one to watch.

Dames is a nutter to the tenth degree. Cry wolf enough and sooner or later one will bite you in the ass.

With that said, there will always be a chance we could be knocked back to the stone age by an x flair. As sick as this may sound to some, i hope it happens. Humans need a kickstart back to their roots.

On the upside is this all makes for some great sporadic -e layer propagation.

Well it has indeed now show signs of life.. It is not yet a threat, however has had 3 M class flares this morning... Guess we will see what happens when it becomes earth facing.. as they seem to loose real potency.
