This of course presumes the bible has an accurate narration of his life in any way shape or form

Seriously who cares? They are far great atrocities taking place in the world to worry about. You don't want to be thumped in the head with a bible? Then don't thump me in the head with your stick of nothing(atheism). Really bad metaphor but I haven't had enough caffeine yet today and that's the best I can do.

What difference does it make to you if I tell my children this is the day that we celebrate Jesus being born?
Also why do people insist on speaking in very broad generalities when it comes to Christians? My kids get 3 gifts each and one large family gift. For instance last year they got the Disney infinity set.
You think you are pointing out something that if you had your way the world would really be a better place. When really you are just as much of a problem than what you pointed out. You are making assumptions on a very large group of people based on what a very small amount of people from that group do. If you did this based on race what would you be? Since it is about religion then it makes it okay?

We all have to live on this rock together, and if people are forcing their beliefs and dogmas upon their children before they're able to grow up think critically then they're making the world a worse place for everyone.

Besides, surely a god would want people to come to it willingly, and not because they were brainwashed as children and had no choice in the matter?

You obviously haven't read the whole thread. That's ok, I sometimes don't either.

I am a Christian - shocker!

I was awakened to the sickness that has become Christmas in Germany at an opera of Jesus Christ Superstar. The director choose to use a bustling Christmas scene for the "temple" scene. Where Jesus declares that the temple has been turned into a den of thieves.

That hit me on the head really hard. It was atheist's doing the show but to see
what they saw
what should have been a holy day is now a day for commercialism and "thieves"

I realized they were right!

Christmas is no longer a holy day, the way it is practiced now

and since it isn't the real birthday of Christ, several months off in fact

it is no longer a holy day that belongs in the "temple" church

what it has become is a den of thieves

So I have made it a little mission of mine

to remind people that what passes for Christmas now is

sneaking into the "temple" churches

turning what what should have been holy

into something Jesus himself would wreak with anger.

Just as he did in the temple so long ago

Perhaps people will find out when/if he returns?

Heck Yeah!

I think He is appalled at what is passed of as a remembrance of his birthday.

Witness how He felt about people selling sacrifices in the temple courtyard. I think He feels just as angry at the commercialism that passes for a remembrance of the day of his birth. Jesus, in my opinion, can't feel all warm and fuzzy about what Christmas is, Giftmas, excessive greed and excessive money changing, all in His name.

I think it is time we joined our atheist brothers and call off Christmas on Dec. 25th.

I think you're maybe confusing atheists with Jehovahs Witnesses....
