A company Centre of Process Innovation is developing a commercial plane without windows. Don´t worry if you are claustrophobic as the new planes are projecting outside scene to the walls of the plane.. but if you have a fear of hights then its a another issue i guess.

It looks great and like an experience, a feeling flying above the clouds without walls. We easily see what is good but what could be wrong, how could such a innovation turn in bad. Such a walls needs continious cleaning, think about this scene in light of influenza season. What about when SHTF are you sure your destination is where you were supposed to go. You won´t see the wings or propellers either and you won´t see a thing which is happening to the plane in realtime, you won´t see frame of the plane all you see is projected images outside the plane.. if that. This requires some trust.. doesn´t it

Have a wonderful journey.. What are your thoughts dear ATS members ?

It's not like you can roll down a window for fresh air now. I would imagine being in a confined space such as this, windows would make no difference. Windowless may even be a little safer. Less chance of seals leaking, not to mention breaks in the structure of the body. Just another gimmick by the airlines to draw passengers.
Looks cool though.

"Ever wondered how many birds splat against the plane during takeoff and landing? well find out now!"
eheh

the idea is amazing, for people that are not afraid of flying or heights, just think of the pictures you could take with a good camera!
not sure i would book a flight on it's maiden voyage though...

Think of all the extra UFO sightings! LOL Sorry I had to go there.

Seriously though, I think it's cool. I could see it being a major issue for people who don't like flying, however. I flew to vancouver once with someone who had a panic attack mid flight and she was on the outside seat. She would have frickin lost it in an environment like that. But I suppose maybe it would still be viable if they could market it to people who like flying.

LOL i thought the same UFO´s also seeing the bad weather lightnings and maybe even huge storms.. if its a real time projection. I wonder when there are not so pretty in sight will the "windowless window" shut off then there is just a wall lol.
I expect if there is real time events outside showing up there could be some panicking too..

Yeah the thought of an inflight emergency also crossed my mind. I would imagine the pilots would have a kill switch to turn off the feed in the event the plane was in trouble to prevent the passengers from panicking. "We're currently experiencing technical difficulties, please bare with us".

Like flying in a tube, I wonder how long it will take to feel the claustrophobia setting in.

I realize its not like you can open one of the windows but it sure is nice to be able to look out if you feel the need...its a mental thing I guess.

I would imagine that this could actually fool your mind and help with claustrophobic anxieties. Also... What about themed flights? Ever wonder what it would be like to have an F-16 escort? Ufo escort? Gremlins? Simulated space tours?

I love flying though.

If you have some kind of phobia towards flying.. it needs much more work than flying in actual plane. Simulations maybe but if you know you are going to be flying in the air.. don´t see it as a help.
Theme flights sounds great, made up scenes when you don´t know your destination... enjoying the flight and ending in to FEMA camp lol... or worse ...
This kind of plane could easily become a vessel to TPTB, a cover up of the real World.. real life and you will see what TPTB want you to see.

Good for rendition flights.
Keeps the prisoners guessing.

This is like the third thread in the last few months talking about this, and not one person has caught the bigger picture.

The bigger picture? I was going to mention that even before I got down to your post.

Honestly, can anyone believe that an unknown (and I suppose small company) is going to design a large, commercial aircraft without windows? That being the goal, how much else would they have to create with such an a/c to get the thing in the air for the public to appreciate? Be smart about it and put this concept down as pure bunk in the way it is presented. But that does not mean that there is meaning in advertising that concept.

You've heard about those huge, so-called black triangles that people in the US and UK have been seeing for a long while now? Well, those are military craft of such a unique type that, eventually, they must make the breakthrough into commercial air travel. Obviously, they have matured enough for that jump and developing companies of GE, Boeing, Lockheed-Martin and Northrup will be pleased to leap far ahead of every other mode of aerial movement.

Oh, the main point: triangles don't have windows, at least not for pleasure viewing. We can assume that the physics by which they operate, which is generating a field around themselves, disallows multiple windows, and by that token, neither will the commercial varieties that are coming down the pike. So get used to the concept. Actually, I expect that there will be some existing a/c converted to be windowless and fitted with multiple HD screens that show much more of the scenery than the little peep holes we exist with today. The added weight of the multiple screens would be offset by the elimination of the windows and the increase of structural strength of the overall a/c.

Thats pretty far out there. I don't try to shove doom porn into every topic. Besides, once your on the plane, they can take you anywhere they want anyways. Windows or not.

Now what do you think would happen if you, oh let's just hypothetically say, put this system on the OUTSIDE of an aircraft....

Oh i thought you had a different answer. I thought it too obvious to point out they did this in a Bond film...so it's been seen before...

well obviously we would have a visually invisible aircraft! This along with the self healing concept lockheed is coming out with provides for a true quality next gen bomber or cargo flight or sr-72 or anything for that matter
