I was always made curious by libertarians. Not so much your credo. But why, if you dislike being a member of a connective society, do you feel that those of us who DO like society, with all of its constraints and advocations, need to think you are paragons of anything but simple (in so many ways) greed.
By definition you need to leave, we do not need to adjust to you. If you insist on this then you are not Libertarians, just Anarchists with a Narcissistic bent.

When will you figure this out? It's like religionists and atheists, stop trying to prove yourself worthy, just go away, please. We'll all be happier and much less stressed.

If Obama had been like FDR or Kennedy then he may have carried the day and been a productive president but his greatest sin is that he turned out to be one of the most ordinary presidents in history—a big phony and dud.

I won't go into all those other details, but will say bravo fully agree on the " —a big phony and dud" analysis.

What people don't seem to remember is what Obama was in the US Senate, an occupier of a position and not even the seat. He failed to show up to vote most of the time and was a do nothing guy placed there with no real effort to do any work or make any difference whatsoever. His most profound activity as POTUS has been the golfer in chief. There is not much of a difference.

I don't know about that list you got there, but increasing the welfare state thanks to the Democrats has given the working class the worst dark times of all as they are the ones been gutted out to pay for it.

Still things has been dark in our nation since American was taken over by corporate power, they are the true government.

There is no indication in the Last 60 years that the people have committed fraud in elections.
There is substantial proof that the politicians have.

Why would you allow greater control over the process when the folks running it are the ones WHO CHEAT?

Gimmee the logic, please, I dare you.

BTW, I too am a Flyers Fan. Yeah! At least this portion of your post.

Sally Ride was gay.

Of course, the rest of your post is the reason it's hard to make the accusation that the GOP specifically is anti-science. As your post so ably demonstrates, all of DC is anti-science as they are now completely political. You cannot be all about the politics and also be all about science at the same time. After all, you never know when the science simply will not support your politics, and that goes for both sides of the aisle.

You should check out Eisenhower's speech. He warned us about the military industrial complex, yes, but in the very next breath, he was warning about the same kind of incestuous relationship between government and science.

If they had a filibuster proof congress they could have passed a true national health care bill---single payer.

The fact is they didn’t have a filibuster proof because of the 60 vote rule in the Senate

THE ACA barley passed and Obama used up all his political capital with the passing of the ACA

What the hell revisionist history nonsense are you pedaling?

Obamacare passed 60 to 39 in a filibuster proof majority and they could have passed anything they wanted in that bill, including single payer. Stop inventing things to support your hysteric hyperbole.

On December 23, the Senate voted 60–39 to end debate on the bill: a cloture vote to end the filibuster. The bill then passed, also 60–39, on December 24, 2009, with all Democrats and two independents voting for it, and all Republicans against (except Jim Bunning, who did not vote). The bill was endorsed by the AMA and AARP. Try using sources instead of fabricating.

I m afraid you’re the one who is inaccurate

Here's the truth

Joe Lieberman was the one that stopped the idea of a national health care bill where people at a certain age would get a Medicare type health insurance at 55…

“Dashing the hopes of Democratic lawmakers Sunday, Sen. Joseph Lieberman signaled he would oppose a health care bill that includes a proposal to expand Medicare to people as young as 55. The independent Connecticut senator has told Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, that he would vote against the Medicare at 55 proposal. He also said he would oppose cloture and work with the GOP if it ends up in the final version of the bill, two Democratic sources told CNN Sunday. Unanimous Republican opposition so far means Senate Democrats need all 60 votes in their caucus, which includes Lieberman, to pass the sweeping bill.”

They didn’t have the 60 votes to get a decent health care bill that would have been close to a single payer

www.cnn.com...

Lieberman opposes Medicare at 55

Just the facts mam(man)

The college loan problem will NEVER get solved

What we do know is the Mr Hope and Change himself had a dem controlled house and senate and couldn't or wouldn't fix this problem. Why? Well then all the lib run universities in the states would be booted off the government gravy train.

Its a wonder that anyone even post on this forum with threads like this. Something one would find in a comic book or on bazooka bubble gum rapper.

You are shifting the goal posts again. You said single payer. Lieberman opposed Medicare at 55 which is a completely different component.

First off Satanists Rallied Support For FL Gov. Rick Scott...I'm getting real tired of hearing about socialism, while clearly failing to recognize that the only thing the GOP has offered is Corporate Socialism! Tax-payers subsidizing corporate profits is Socialism. I would rather follow the teachings of Jesus and practice the example when he fed the 5,000 and healed the sick in my own little way by voting for policies that embody those same virtues rather than being just another money changer. You hate taxes well Jesus said give to Caesar what's Caesar's. What rhetoric do I see from Christian Conservative Patriots? Work by the sweat of your brow. That's all you have. Picking and choosing what agrees with your opinion. The Founding Fathers? Well let's see what they had to say. Founding Father Benjamin Rush Rush I had “rather see the opinions of Confucius or Mohammed inculcated upon our youth than see them grow up wholly devoid of a system of religious principles”. I could go on and on and go reductio ad absurdum all over Tea Party ideology, all I'm gonna say just like Jesus did let no man deceive you. Regardless of their party affiliation.

OP you mention many things that in fact are already happening are you so blinded you can not see it?

They are laughing at all of you playing one side or the other......You are in fact a fool. Think I am wrong I can prove it. Remember when Obama was running the 1st time around he said he would not sign the patriot act and that he would keep banks/corporations out of the White house..........Fools. But yet you still cling to a belief your party is somehow different........Ya. If Romney had won we would have Romney care and the other side would be crying about how it is not working.

Also you mention the laws being changed to favor banks.........Are you blind........Seriously have you even payed attention the last 6 years. The government is the banks and they have total control already. To be honest it is put near impossible to argue/fix stupid. I am sorry for being harsh but someone has to call it for what it really is.

@ Willtell there is cause for concern though and not to be taken lightly they can do massive damage by the time they are removed.
Scientific American
Science in a Republican Senate: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Ted Cruz

Meanwhile, based on senate seniority, it is likely that the Republicans would appoint Ted Cruz as chairman of Commerce, Science and Transportation. Cruz is a climate skeptic who recently pushed for a reduction in NASA’s budget. It is also noteworthy that he was the public face of last year’s government shutdown, which did lasting damage to scientific research.

This dude will be large and in charge over our science.
James Inhofe will likely take charge of Environment and Public Works. That would be disastrous for science.

Inhofe is one of the loudest climate deniers in the senate, as evidenced by his book The Greatest Hoax: How The Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future and many other public and written statements. If Inhofe gains control of the Senate committee in charge of climate change legislation, that’s probably the end of climate change legislation (not that great strides have been made in the past seven years of Democratic dominance). And, global warming aside, it’s probably not a good idea to put someone who calls scientific consensus a “hoax” in charge of a Senate committee that holds the purse strings for scientific funding.

This is where the Koch Bros really wins less government restrictions on industries willing to pollute if they can cut corners and make a few more bucks perhaps passing the bill to tax payers when they screw-up the environment really really bad, look for more
