Oh we're going that far back? Was it the civil rights act? None of you have the balls to say so but we know that was what bothered you

Didn't bother me one bit. I wasn't born so no.

Fox is reporting Republicans just took control.

Confirm this please.

Yep, GOP takes control of the Senate with 52 majority!
Joni Ernst in Iowa made the deciding vote.

geez....Ernst, the new Michele bachman....why don't we just have the Koch brothers take over the US, and be done with it

Did our nations problems begin with Carter or Clinton?

They began with Roosevelt, and his 'new deal'.

The Roosevelt added stupid with SS.

Then Johnson added more stupid with medicare, and medicaid.

Then came along a guy named Obama who decidied they would make healthcare more 'affordable'.

Except the thought never occured to them that the US government is the largest healthcare insurer in the country.

That accounts for over 100 million people. That has taken them out of the private sector.

And that is one of the reasons why healthcare was getting more 'expensive'.

Compound that BULLSNIP anti free market, and CLASSICAL DEFINITION of what the word LIBERAL use to mean with regulation.

You lnow stuff like that is SS,medicare, and medicaid accounts for the largest consumption of federal tax revenue.

But hey who cares.

The Democrats are never responsible for anything they have ever done.

No matter what it's the Republicans fault for the 'current' state of the union.

Obama's biggest mistake was being weak and attempting compromise. You can't compromise with lunatics.

people didn't vote their own self-interest. the republicans aren't lunatics, they just know how to win over stupid voters

Is that right ?

Seems to me they did vote in their self interest.

Since the Democrats always vote in the collective interest, and just wait for government to give them things they can't get on their own.

Lol just ask Kansas how that GOP utopia thing is going

I'm just glad it seems Scott Brown is gonna lose. That piece of trash couldn't take Warren so he jumped state lines to try again. What a loser.

they just re-elected brownback for another term!!!....maybe he can close another 10 or 20 school districts, and finally get those pesky school teachers pay down to minimum wage, where it belongs.

Most legislatures vote in their self interest, unless they are really, really brave:

98 U.S. senators for voted in favor of the US Patriot Act of 2001 (Senator Landrieu (D-LA) did not vote) Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin was the only senator who voted against the Patriot Act on October 24, of 2001.

Even though Obama has lowered the deficit, lowered unemployment faster than Romney's most optimistic estimate and brought the economy back from the #storm it was thanks to Bush.

To be fair, President Obama is only lowering unemployment because people are no longer being counted as unemployed. The last time we got these numbers, we also got the numbers showing our labor force participation rate is at the lowest point it has been in 40 years. Our real unemployment and underemployment rate right now is sitting somewhere just under 40%. It is a complete and utter mess.

you're right...everyone is now on their own, that 70 years old elderly lady better go find a job... and that guy that has no legs, they can prop him up on a stool behind a cash register so he can earn his own dam living just like everyone else....so, how many black parolees are you going to hire, or how about hiring that retarded woman who just slobbers all the time...she needs to pull her own weight, damn it, no government handouts for her. after all, keeping your taxes as low as possible is the number one issue

This is also incorrect. President Obama's biggest mistake came about from the fact that when elected he was a rookie with partisan politics. He got elected, got a supermajority, and tried to give his party a major boon with health care. The politically conscious move to do would have been to scream that they were using Governor Romneys implementation and basing the plan heavily on the official Heritage plan from 1988-2008 (which they did). Basically they needed to come out and say this bill is fundamentally Republican, they got it right and now we're going to enact it.

That would have removed any ability for the right to campaign against it, and if any flaws came up they could say it was due to scaling up the plan and that they would adjust parts as needed.

President Obama did not do that. If he did, he would have effectively neutered any political opposition to him for the next 4-6 years.

Edit: To add, if any of you here ever go into politics study Obama's first two years. It is a textbook example of what not to do, and how not to behave. He made virtually every mistake possible and was saved only by a friendly congress and enthralled media. These days he's much more of a politician, but still suffers from those early mistakes.

I mean hell just because I and others don't want government playing mommy, and daddy with our hands out and ask for our allowances apparently makes us 'evil'.

The games they play are fun. But in the end it's all lies, damn lies, and statistics.

The real numbers are usually published, but the interesting ones are rarely the ones that get reported on.
