The primary problem will reach a head when intelligent, self-replicating machines start to be in competition with us for energy and other scarce resources.

Our best hope is that they just decide to hop aboard a space ship, turn themselves off for a few thousand years, and relocate to another planet far away. Because they can do that relatively easily compared to us.

Otherwise, we're going to be boned.

I like my scifi, and thats the second book to be recomended to me in the last couple of days
