If this exact scenario ended up being true, I don't know if I'd laugh or cry. ;p

I bought a lottery ticket earlier. I looked at the jackpot and said "Only 4 million?"

I have only bought lottery tickets twice. Once when the jackpot was $600M and once when the jackpot was $300M. Even then I only bought one ticket and one play for one dollar. I did win $7 on one, so I'm technically ahead. The fact is, I analyzed the odds and only bought a ticket when the fractional odds of winning was worth more than one dollar. Even then it is a case of malinvestment when you consider all the taxes they take out.
