It was built before, it can be built again.

Besides, building the infrastructure to enable the building of products will in itself create a positive knock on for the economy.

Those who became doctors to cure others will still become doctors.

Those who became teachers to educate will still become teachers.

etc. and etc.

All you've done when you've "redistributed wealth" is to separate those with passion from those without passion.
Wealth is as relative as it was during times of slavers.

A society of those who subject and those who are subjected that is enforced by mortality and suffering will never have true respect for individuals. To date on our current method, for any sizable wealthy class to have continued "wealth" it always required a lower class to dominate.

It's time to end that stagnant dysfunction.

This is a good idea, but it depends what kind of manufacturing you create.

For example. Only 2% of the money garnered from Iphone sales go to the US. Most of it goes to Germany, where the parts are manufactured, then China where they are assembled.

Those would be good manufacturing jobs for the US to have.

Companies always go the path of least resistance, and in this case the path of the lower cost. All we need to do is make it more lucrative to manufacture here at home than overseas. Companies are somewhat mindless in this sense drifting in the direction that provides the lower overall cost. Obama and team has done a great job in creating the rich/companies out as the boogeyman when Obama is really the one that prevents these companies from returning.

Just role it back to pre-regan tax cuts. Abolish the IRS as is, and come up with fair US Tax Code.

That would be the easiest, but we all know that a healthy economy will generate 100x more tax revenue than increasing the taxes on the rich. Once again this is just a Obama made boogeyman that even doubling their taxes would have little effect compared to a healthy economy.

This.

Also, reverse Citizens United. Make it illegal to have anonymous contributions and pass legislation that creates transparency in this area.

For example, make it so that congress MUST create and update a website every year that shows the total number of dollars given to any congressman or senator by companies and lobbying organizations.

But removing the profit motive from politics is a sure fire way to get the regular people of that country heard.

~Tenth

I want to see a 10 year limit in congress too, we do not need professional politicians, we need professionals that do their country well by being a politician for a period of time then they move on. There are just too many ignorant people in America that vote the same failing person over and over back into office for decades.

What if we impose an import export tariff on certain goods? And I agree to the paying a fair wage part.

Protectionist moves create an antagonistic relationship with trading partners, expect similar moves on their part regarding our products in their markets.

The point is not wealth distribution. The point two fold. One incentive the upper class to be involved in the public state and elementary level education rather then just diverting all of their time and resources into private institutions.

When the US was at it's best was when the wealthy had a heavy investment in the companies they owned, they made damn sure their investment was producing the highest quality product. They saw that as a measurement, reinvesting in their product line.

Presently, profits are sewn into the best markets for profits not as highly reinvested into their own companies as they once were.

Oh to the workforce part. The point in incentivizing the wealthy to take part in education is because they know what they need. So their influence in the educational process will automatically help balance the workforce skill set out.

Why?

They'd simply do as is presently being done, that's to open a location in, say in India, were the people have the same degrees and pay them a third of what they would pay for same level of work done here.

Personally, I'm sick of people bring up "raising taxes" as a solution.

Imagine your house is flooding.

Raising taxes is like building a bigger basement so it doesn't get the main floor wet.

Instead of stopping the flood, all we're doing is making the cellar bigger!

Also

No-one pays any damned attention to the Constitution anymore. Every damned law seems to be a conflict with our personal freedoms.

Plus

No-one cares about individual freedoms or liberties anymore.

It's all for the "collective".

I give up. Let the damned commies, socialists, progressives, big government weanies have their perfect "utopia".

Make it all government-controlled.

I'll just disappear, refuse to be a part of the system, get jailed in the perfect "utopia" and rot.

I'm just sick and tired of "control-politics" and celebrity politicians.

After rereading this I already seeing you need more clarification.

To your first point.

We don't need to export if we buy our own goods. It's actually more likely that a lot of these countries need our goods such as food, and soon, gas and oil. Also they need our security so we have other ways to leverage our power to advance our economy world wide.

To your last point.

Right I get that but by bringing that market back to the U.S., which is the coding and IT market I'm assuming your talking about specifically here.. You create the conditions for this to happen by leveraging tariffs on goods purchased in the us but produced in other country's. I know there's holes in that debate but I think if we follow that thought process further down the line it could evolve into something more realistic.

If your business practice puts a portion of the economy at risk I think you should be held accountable by a higher rate of contribution.

Slayer I'm addressing your point directly but I'm also simultaneously answering multiple post because they are along the same line of thought.

I'm with you Beezzer...

It is kind of funny that the more Government we see the worst things get, and people say "we need more" Its like throwing gas on a fire to put it out. I hope one day people actually look down and see that it is gas that they are using....hehe

There are two directions we can go...increase taxes, OR dare I say it........ Reduce Government spending... If we cut the Government in half tomorrow would things get better or worst... If you suggest they would get worst then I would say that since things are already getting worst we at least would still be paying 50% off for it...lol

The point isn't bigger government your over simplifying this topic.

The point is reallocation, rethinking and changing current paradigms not adding to the problem.

I think it's estimated that only around half of Americans pay income taxes. How about we bring that number to 100% and drop the progressive tax system for a flat tax. No loopholes, everyone paying into the system.

Everyone pays less in taxes. More money to pay workers. More money to hire. More in the government coffers. More in American's wallets...

Problem solved.

If money was going to cure the poverty poroblem in the US, then why are there still poor people with trillion dallar spending?

If money was going to solve the education problem in the US then why has spending gone up 1000 percent, and education standards gotten lower?

Everyone says money can fix it, but history shows that spending more has actually made it worse!

God you make it sound so simple!

No we need to use taxes to incentivize and leverage against bad business practice.
Your not addressing the point your making a broad statement about government and taxes that aren't even relevant. You need to first ask for more clarification before making assumptions.

There are no 'Quick fixes'

You want manufacturing jobs back in the US?

China needs to first feel the 'Inflation elephant' in their living room.

I know it's not popular to talk about how the next Economic superpower is about to have a massive bubble burst but just like how the US was positioned right before 2008 with the real-estate industry being as high as 19% of our GDP, China is way up around 30%. We in the US had ghost apartment buildings, Corner strip malls and empty housing developments, China has and continues to build whole Ghost cities.

Once they finally bite the bullet their products will become more expensive and our products will be closer inline price wise.

Flame away.

Here what id do:

1) Ban high leverage trading Unless the bank or trading company has the hard assets to back that trade up.

2) Ban trading using the money from personal account unless a bank specially states it will to the customer and outline the risks.

3) enforce corporate tax laws between the USA/UK/EU/Australia/New Zealand, no tax avoidance schemes all those allied major economy have to work together to root out tax havens ect

4) Equal law enforcement for rich and poor. No afluenza defences no "to big to jail".

5) Proportional fines. What the point of giving a billionaire a £60 fine for speeding? Id make fine into percentages of income.

5) Bank or business fraud should be cracked down on HARD. If a corporation is caught doing something illegal then the director (s) need to be held accountable. If a Bank or corporation loses everyone money doing something illegal then the CEO get his personal asset liquidated to help repair that damage.

6) Ban lobbying. Politicians are there to serve the people not big business. If big business wants to see a politician then they need to book a appointment like the general public, protest outside, attend the same community meetings as the general public.

7) Make all politicians declare who has funded them with the exact amounts and also were that money has gone (IE to make sure it goes on campaigns not to line pockets).

8) Life imprisonment for political corruption as its akin to treason.

9 Heavy fines for every lie a politician makes. If they cant meet a promise or go back on a pledge then it needs to go to court and if they cant give a reasonable excuse why they did not do what they said, fine them or imprison them if it has major effects.

10) Tie a politicians wage to the national average income so if the economy does well they get rewarded, if the economy does badly they suffer. For every percent the economy grow they get a bonus for every percent the economy contracts they get a penalty

11) If the unemployment rate goes over 8% then politicians only get welfare you suffer they suffer alongside the public!

12) If a war is declared then every politician who is in favour with a son/daughter of age has to have one conscripted into military service! As enlisted too not officers!
