I like how different websites popped up with that title saying "NASA confirms!" yet no one is actually posting a reference to the NASA website.

Doom porn / marketing tactics at its finest (or lowest).

what would ATS be if we couldnt provide these kinds of stories to entertain the mind

I did do the research but felt everyone else should do it aswell

and I cant say i saw this at all to be true. Likelihood of NASA predicting a solar storm in a couple months... very unlikely

but this is just the kind of story ATS'ers LOVE to read

and because of this thread ive learned that Ebola brings people back from the dead

It is responsible for other hoaxes such as Ebola victims rising from the dead and Tupac Shakur claiming he was alive.

having some fun with this thread

It's a hoax, read about it several hours ago. Think they said they wanted to see how it spread, the false story.

An experiment done on the masses to see what kind of response there would be ?

Perhaps a desensitization programming in effect ?

December 15? I live in the Up. of Michigan. four months of not seeing much of the sun is common here. How will I know if something is happening?

People really need to start doing ther research before believing something and spreading it around.

The only research needed with this topic is turning one's brain on...

You people do realize this is posted in the HOAX section, right? After reading some of the comments here it seems you need a reminder!

I would like to know where this space debri came from and why we havent seen it before. also if true what is the affect of fallen debri on the earth

In an effort to answer your question.
This would be very much like a 'six day lunar eclipse'. The results of this much debris falling to earth would likely be something like the moon doing the same.

I also think one event is very much as likely to happen as the other.

This reeks of bs. 99% of all "NASA says" threads ATS seem to all be fake. Why do people fall for this stuff all the tim

It may be a hoax. But there are ancient accounts of the sun standing in its place for several days. On one side of the earth there was darkness, for the other side equal parts in the light. I won't deny anything.

That source doesn't exactly inspire confidence but the comments are epic:

Best one ever:

Try turning the sun off and on again, that might fix it.

October 27 at 2:05pm
or smacking it on the side like we used to do the old tv's with tubes and antennas.

The best thing about these viral Facebook stories is that it gives me a good idea of who to de-friend so I don't catch the parasitic disease eating into their brain..

I doubt the original OP started this thread in the hoax section. Some threads start out in other sections then later get moved to the hoax section by the moderators.

Many of these comments could have been posted before the thread was moved.

On moving the thread, starting a thread such as this one IN the Hoax section tends to defeat the purpose.

Gotta wait 20 mins if you do that

On turning the sun on and off to reboot, IIRC, the off time is roughly 1 second per 1 billion years of age so 5 seconds will do it.

If the Sun stood still it meant the Earth stopped rotating. If that were to happen, all the oceans would have sloshed over the continents and everything loose on the surface would have gone flying off.

there are three issues with those " ancient accounts "

1 - no actual evidence that any of them occurred

1b - no chronological cross confirmation by different cultures ie when the middle east was experiencing alledged days of darkness - the Chinese should have reported continual day

2 - no rational mechanism for their occurrence

3 - why don't miracles happen anymore ????

Respectfully, there are not any ancient nor in fact any accounts at all, ancient or otherwise of the Sun standing in place. That is preposterous. reply to: Oannes
