MFO - Mars Floating Object?[resolved]

If this has been posted already mod's please remove.

I really don't know what to say, I'm not good at these types of threads and am far from a digital photo expert. I found this looking at another thread just now and going to the wrong place.



The item I'm looking at is at about 11 o'clock above a faint mountain in the distance.

What is it a camera artifact? It's hard to tell with the distortion of the lens.

Add: Lense Debris.

It's something on the camera.

If you look at the FLB camera, there is nothing there.

If you go back a day, and look at the FRB images, it's in them, moving with the camera.

So it's something on the lens.

Yup, that would be it.

Can you delete this so as to not make confusion?
First time on the NASA site didn't know how to look back since the image next to it didn't show the dust.

If you want it deleted, you'll need to do an alert, and I can't mod a thread I'm in (or have created). I just posted as a member.

I'd leave it though (just my personal opinion) as it's a great example of something on a camera lens making it look like there's something in the sky.

Down the road, someone might post another pic from this camera, and this thread can be used to show it was discussed before.

It's no big deal, I hate bothering the mods, eventually it will find it's place in obscurity!

Interesting website though, the images are incredible. Now I know where all the rock watchers go to look.

I find it extremely interesting looking a the erosion pattern on such a pristine landscape. So different from earth. Is there a recent moon directory for images?

Depends on what you want to look at.

For high detailed images, I use the LROC Quick Maps.

For Apollo images, there are a multitude of websites, such as this one

I just pulled up a list of links too, but the interactive one is great I just have to wait to get to my computer to get the scale thing worked out.
