Slowly but surely, hopefully .

Can't explain that. I think inviting you guys there in the mean time was a breach of TC's somewhere.

Apologies for that.

Chat will likely be back up soon.
A little downtime never hurt anyone.

They are prolly trying to run off with the money SO. SOme companies get sold or bought and then they decide to cut off users with no notice and dash with the cash they were paid that month.

SkepticOverlord why not use this problem with chat to do it in house so to speak ,we have a computer help forum on the boards so this would be a great little project for some of the more brainy members here and save the site money , all this coding stuff is way above my head but not to some members here , turn it into a competition [ see my idea here ] www.abovetopsecret.com...

job done

Lots of chat script on the net.
Maybe check open source for code.

I'm an IRC geek, theres no hiding that.

With that in mind you could always do something with Open Source IRC server and Anope Services handler. Then do something like give it a webchat portal with Kiwi IRC. Theres other web irc clients out there too. All depends on what kind of chat ATS prefers.

IRC ( Internet Relay Chat) has been around since the mid 80's. It's like the old reliable for internet chat. Much of the command line style functions have been carried over into other platforms like in-game chats, web chats, and newer chat clients like Pidgin/Jabber, Skype, etc.

As has been stated before, we will not do IRC.

1) I don't like it -- and I'm an Internet geek since CompuServe/AOL

2) Our hosting provider (and many others) does not allow links to IRC on hosted sites.
