Hi I just signed up here, but has anyone noticed that someone called Icewolf at Ignorance Denied has written a poem that seems to have hidden clues on Black labyrinth.

www.ignorancedenied.com...

For example dark maze, Black Labyrinth
Piles of two's and three's (2's and 3's) (23)
The hunts at stake, the whole thing seems a bit odd to me.

Did cowfile get two points for contributing here?

I think you're right. I'm new to the game, so please bare with me and my mistakes. Icewolf definately appears to know something. In fact, I think Tablet is in on it, too. You should also check out Ignorance Denied's Brainteasers. Especially, the one where you convert a .jpg to a .zip for hidden stuff. I can't do it, I don't know if it's a Mac thing, but others have. Also, just the nature of having "brainteasers" puzzles much too sophisticated for this puzzle lover suggests to me that clues may be technologically hidden as well. Anyway, here is Icewolf's poems. Whatever is in parentheses is my interpretation of those lines.

Oh, and if you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out the "Games and Events" forum. Please don't post general questions on this thread, only questions, comments, interpretations about Icewolf's poems. It's not an elitist thing, it's simply because noone really knows what the game is all about. Besides, there's other threads discussing that stuff.

Anyway, here's the poems and some of my weak interpretations:

A Poem by Me
Day 1

The dark night chills in the old town square,
the barren town leaves none to spare,
the two who meet on the darkest nights,
with a lantern and the moons silvery light,
Discussion on the future goes on till late,
Until a decision is reached on the state,
The powers decide to play a game,
Of mystery and of powerful shame,
When the wheels turn and all is bare,
The world pales in a consistent stare,
That such a delicate thing could be seen by few,
As a fleeting word amongst the dew.
(the creators of this puzzle met in secrecy in the fall of 2004 to design a really difficult puzzle game. The puzzle begins by finding the inconspicuous link at the bottom of the ATS and DI pages)

The End

[Edited on 9-12-2004 by Icewolf]

You will have to come full circle to find the truth.

For the hidden side will show your youth.
(I don’t know if this signature has anything to do with the puzzle)

Day 2

As the two arrange to meet again,
The world looks and passes.
The thought that two so innocent,
Would plan their downfall surpasses,
Even the most secure of man,
Does follow the crowd enthralled,
Madness rules the land,
For they do hear that the sirens called,
Their lives have now been signed,
For they traded them long ago,
For words covered with nicities,
And all along they would know,
How even now they cannot see,
What trully lies in wait . . .

The End

[Edited on 9-12-2004 by Icewolf]
(alright, as these TWO collaborators meet later, nobody is really getting anywhere with the game. Maybe Icewolf is describing how people get sucked into the game.)

Day 3

As time goes on no one knows,
How evil just grows and grows,
The dark maze draws attention,
To mysterious movements of apprehension,
As the men delve deeply into talk,
Of the horror which awaits all who stalk,
The creature of power so great,
The answer to the question the hunt's at stake,
As the talk continues amongst the two,
Leaves fall from the trees and subdue,
They lie in piles of two's and three's,
Powerful steps have to be taken,
To be safe from the peril awakened,
For the two alone cannot fullfil,
The quest undertaken with their skills,
In secret times all is profound.

The End
(The TWO guys start to get more help from other members, particularly with SKILLS, such as historical, astronomical, or poetic knowledge. How the secret is held is through threat of punishment, perhaps banishment)

you know i will go on until you stop me. (actually this will finish at about day 5/6/7/8/9. . .)

Day 4

The two men arrived again,
They had succeeded in deterring them,
Like binary stars hidden in plain sight,
From the path which would lead them right,
They lifted their glasses a toast to drink,
On the wealth of innocence which was sure to shrink,
The hunters, hunted, irony was sweet,
Yet time would show how they'd meet,
The plans unfolded as time grew old,
Soon all would have to be told.
The race was on.

The End
(Speculation on the Black Labyrinth has lead many to believe the maze has something to do with astrology, specifically Taurus. Is the poet declaring this a decoy? Also, as time goes on and due to the complexity of the game, hints will have to be dropped)

Day 5

The time has come again, night has come.
The relic hunters have begun
A quest on which time will rest
The darkness shrouds and covers best
The puppets strings are pulled this way
And so they have no say
A game is on which shall prove
The most dangerous puppet will be hardest to move
The wheels have turned and now shall start
The begining, the end, the dark.

[Edited on 11-1-2005 by Icewolf]

[Edited on 11-1-2005 by Icewolf]
(Relic hunters? Icewolf mentions “time,” I don’t know if this refers to a particular date or time of day, time zone? The puppets may refer to the people collaborating and perhaps one is being a brat
the last line seems very prophetic, but I don’t know)

Day 6

O how the mighty are fallen,
from up on high and then forgotten,
but times of age and times of new,
share the simple elementary clue,
that which you all may seek,
is mine to give, yours to keep,
but first you should know by now
nothing in life is free; then how,
by all means necesarry you will solve
yet you will be left to resolve
the information is plain to see
yet missing in sight for you need the key
darkness falls, now quickly turn
from dark to light and then spurn
to the gate and put in the key
like the evil in a blackened heart
you will open up and all shall hark

The End
(the elementary clue is in these poems? So, the key has been discovered and we need to find the gate? There may be directions here, but I’m stupid)

Day 7

Dots and dashes clear the haze,
Round and round through the maze,
The demon of the inner sanctum,
Sits and waits, for none have found him,
You should have found what was wry,
Something small yet something nigh,
Like the fool who began unknown,
Dog at knee his knowledge grown,
For those that listen, listen well,
We don't have time to dwell,
Maps hung up, time slowed down,
Look back for unto the ground,
The answers lie behind the dark,
The two made clues, put apart,
The riddle now you may solve,
For the two can't help you evolve,
Wisdom, use it well,
For as once said, you know the drill,
Unknown answers may yet surprise,
Like a hidden dragon, different guise.

(People have talked about codes being woven into the Black Labyrinth. I don’t know if “dots and dashes” refer to the Morris Code or just that there is code breaking involved. “Look back for unto the ground” may mean stop looking at the skies/stars for clues? “the answers lie behind the dark” the background behind the Black Labyrinth is somehow significant? Hidden dragon?)

I know I’m reaching

Check randomnous.iamthecheese.com... for more clues.

Feel free to offer up some other/better interpretations.

I've struggled with this game as well. I posted a bunch of charts earlier, but couldn't find the matching constellation. This is the first I have seen of all the poems, so maybe I will have another look.

Yeah, I don't know if you have checked out the Ignorance Denied forums. They have put a lot of work into it.
I think that these poems are the first clues, either that or Icewolf is a $%&$&#*#*%#*%#*

That which is hidden put aback,
Shall reveal itself to those whom lack,
The games that we play are no where near their peek,
First you must search through the letters greek,
He who does not see,
The labyrinth is mixed with density,

I'm not quite sure your take on this,
But Icewolfs work has gone amiss,
The answers which he would bring,
Have prompted one who's heart don't sing,
People whom were once trusted,
Start games of their own over those that rusted,
Putting fear through those that aid,
That bring through power in this allmighty crusade,
Like the messenger who warfare does,
Bring about his hidden buzz.

I think I smell a breakthrough

off-a-hunting I shall go... Greek? I always thought something with greek... I think I even said something earlier about Crete and the Greek language, or something of the matter, I don't remember. *jumps for Joy*

Another poem:bnghd:
Canis lupus is the latin name for a wolf.
cow_file similar to a bull, information
Seth Bullock, Seth:

Chief adversary and eventual murderer of his brother Osiris, Seth represented the sterility of the desert, chaos, and destruction of the cosmic order in Egyptian mythology. Seth maintained a fierce rivalry with the god Horus, son of Isis and Osiris, and was ultimately defeated a triumph of order over chaos. In one of their battles, Horus tore away Seth's leg, which was represented by the Big Dipper, believed by Egyptians to be a source of immortality because it never left the night sky. The power of this belief is evident in the mummification ritual of pressing a dipper-shaped object to the deceased's mouth and eyelids, restoring the spirit and reanimating the body for life in the afterworld.
Bullock is a young bull (possible lock as well)
I keep missing some obvious stuff

will someone else please give a shot at interpreting these poems? I think Lupus is saying I'm way off.

Also, check out this thread for another possible clue/poem:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

P.S. Just a thought but wern't Romulus and Remus raised by wolves? someone by the name Phi has approached a user on ID and scared/threatened them. So, be warned, people. I searched for Phi on the "members" link and got some weird results, no leads, though.

Keep in touch Y'all

Okay, here's what I'm getting out of it.
-Lupus is trying to tell us that we arn't really getting the whole idea of BL.
-The game's no where near what it's going to turn out to be.
-We have to look through the Greek alphabet (?)
-Something about the labyrinth being "mixed with density (must look into this...)
-Icewolf was origionally assigned as the "clue giver" but now has turned to the "bad side"
and is messing with our heads
-Someone (Phi?) is out to instill fear in the game players
-The messenger (Icewolf?) is the talk among the players(?)

okay
my ideas are totally off. That's okay though, it was worth a shot. i kinda get the idea, but it's hard with all the poems... I'm pretty sure that the last stanza is all about Icewolf and someone else (Phi?)

Ahh, oh well, back to playing Tetris untill someone else gets a take in this...

'The Epic of Gilgamesh' the worlds oldest known written story refers also to the struggle of Gilgamesh with a 'heavenly bull' which he overcomes. The clues are all around us I am sure. Just too daft to realise what they are trying to tell me.

Oh and it is MORSE code, the dots and dashes, invented by Sir Thomas Morse spelled M-O-R-S-E. If you people want to corrupt the English language fine but at least make the effort to get people's names right. To continiue to mis-spell those unique words such as Names is insulting and disrespectful to their owners.
