I hope they tell him to take his pity money and shove it up his you know what. These people stood their ground and God will bless them in whatever they do.

Wow - a gay man can't even do the right thing and your hatred spills over so much that you can't even recognise it.

Hang your #ing head in shame.

Mind if I ask why you are against the guy who is trying to help these people out??? Can you explain the reasoning behind that one??? Especially since out of anyone who could have stepped up to help this would normally be the last person anyone would have thought would do so.

He wasn't part of the original dispute and has nothing to do with what happened to these people and yet he's going out of his way to try and help them, even though they have taken a position against who he is and his lifestyle choices.

Not that I subscribe to your "God" theory and whether or not he's going to Bless them for what they've done, but if we're going to entertain that idea, did you ever consider that this guy helping them out might be that very blessing??? Something to think about.

If he had any intention of doing "the right thing", he would have done it quietly. This is a public insult of the highest degree. " Hey everyone, look at me! This is what REAL Christians do."

Disgusting

Who says he asked it to be reported? You obviously have a huge problem with people being nice to each other and I'd like to be the one to say to everyone reading this - look at this member. Look at this member's reaction to something nice happening. Remember that when you see this member post anything at all, ever again because you now know what to expect - irrational hatred.

You obviously have no clue what "Crowd Sourcing" is do you?? How well does "crowd sourcing" quietly work out???

Damn you are a bitter person. Your life must really suck to have an attitude like that toward someone who's trying to help someone else.

Maybe it's that he wrote an Op-ed which was printed in The Washington Post. Here's the emphasis taken from his fund raising site.

we are raising money to demonstrate to the Kleins what love looks like in the face of discrimination. We want to begin a conversation with the Kleins and Christians around the country. We want to ask them to begin to use the posture of Jesus Christ as it pertains to the civil rights of gay Americans.

There is nothing said on the fund raising page about helping the Kleins. This is more of the message:

Please consider giving a small amount or at least sending a kind message to the Kleins in an attempt to change the tenor of this national cultural conversation from one of intolerance towards one of compassion and love.

So he's broadcasting to the world that he's raising the money to get the nation to change it's position on Gay Marriage.

There's nothing wrong with that of course, and I'm sure that the Klein's will be able to use the money. But don't pretend that it's an example of Christian charity with the goal of helping the suffering.

Oh, that's right, the money. As of 5 minutes ago they still weren't up to $3000.

Fine, buddy - they can ignore someone doing the right thing and trying to help them. I think it's time to just throw our hands up and start burning the religious. # 'em.

Dear SomePeople,

Are you sure you're replying to me? I didn't say they should ignore them, in fact I said that the Kleins would be able to use the money.

And nobody is ignoring them. An Op-ed in The Washington Post is not exactly hiding in a closet.

As the OP stressed, this is being done by a Gay Christian. Christianity prefers donors to be much more anonymous. If you give to be seen by man, you'll get your reward from man. But if you give in secret, the Father who sees all will give you your reward in heaven. (Poorly paraphrased)

With respect,

Maybe the last person you thought would pull a stunt like this. The only thing that surprises me is how long it took.

You do realize that this guy can't be anonymous in doing this though right?? It's not like he's just donating this money himself or just writing an op-ed. He's Crowd Funding this thing which means he has to get the word out for it to work. The more exposure he has the more donations are possible.

So he decided to also include a little more info about why he's doing it. The message he puts out is obviously a positive one as well. Love your Enemy, Bless those who Curse You, Turn the other Cheek, etc. I seem to remember some other guy mentioning those same ideals.....Hmmm, who was that guy again??

You're the one calling it a Stunt not me.

So you're not surprised that a Gay Evangelical Man stepped out on his own to help these people out???
Or do you mean it didn't surprise you because in your opinion he's only doing it to push some kind of hidden agenda???

Honestly, I was a little surprised that anyone could be a Gay Evangelical actually. But I'm not Religious so I still get confused with all the classifications.

I'm a bit surprised that nobody else has stepped up to help these people out other than this guy. What happened to all those Anti-Gay Christian supporters who should be stepping up to help these people out???

Gee I don't know, perhaps donating quietly and anonymously like they're supposed to. I don't see the Kleins begging for money, do you?

I don't normally quote the Bible on this site, but the topic certainly calls for it this time around.

Matthew 6
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them:
otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee,
as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have
glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret
himself shall reward thee openly.

Lol. Whatever.

We all know why you don't approve of this guy too. Any other Christian who did the same you wouldn't say a thing or maybe praise him for doing it. But this Gay Christian, no grace whatsoever extended by you at all. That's Lovely.

Good luck living with all that spiteful crap built up inside you too BTW. That can't be easy.

You're right its not easy. Help me mOjOm. Tell me how to rid myself of this deep down burning hate that I have for homosexuals. Should I throw away my Bibles? Start watching gay porn? Maybe attend a gay wedding or two?

Could you recommend a good sensitivity class or something? Fix me mOjOm! Tell me how to make it go away.

While you're at it, I could really use some help with my racism too. For some reason every time I walk through a poor black neighborhood I hear these voices calling me a cracker. Weird huh?

The sacrament of Marriage is meant to “progress” peoples’ lives to a higher point at the end of that life. Romance and its corresponding emotions certainly lead into marriage and make it enjoyable but in the end a much deeper meaning is learned that the shallowness of emotions cannot hope to approach. The reason marriage is SUPPOSED to be between a man and a woman is because homosexuality only presents one side of life, one viewpoint, one half of the picture to the participants in a day-by-day intimate relationship that mere friendship with the opposite sex can’t present. God is both male and female which makes forsaking one or the other in something that resembles a marriage an abomination in His sight. It’s another Golden Calf.

While the “Gay Gospel” or whatever they’re calling their version of the “old” Bible harps on love, love, love like a hippie in a 60s commune such revisions completely pass over the meat of what Christianity actually is. I will be the first to admit that the KJV of the Bible is often desperately flawed in its interpretation of ancient scriptures but it has been the only source the common man has had available to him to answer the question “How Shall We Then Live?” until the Internet put so many other sources at one’s fingertips. But, thankfully, some bits of truth survived and shine through. Luke 9:23 is one that is totally ignored by those who want to go merrily tripping through whatever field of flowers their minds conjure up because the supremacy of one’s own personal happiness is something that has been preached by marketing departments since advertising was invented. This verse reads: “Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” This does NOT fit into the idea of filling the pews with butts that have copious amounts of money associated with them! What it means is anything defined as "sin" in The Law should be avoided regardless of how much you like to do it. Since the Old Testament days homosexuality has been deemed a “sin” which, in other words, means a path, and act, other than what God directed us to follow and for good reason. Unfortunately the scriptures are not good on pointing those reasons out but I’d bet they were laid out quite well in the Oral Traditions known to Kabbalists. One does not make it through boot camp lounging under a tree but sweating it out on the grinder with their fellow soldiers and paying attention in the classes provided. The slovenly, putrid mess that Christianity is today is why the vast majority of so-called “Christians” have no forceful, unified voice to stand up against something that should be rejected on its face such as homosexuality and an enlightened, intelligent response and appropriate support offered as to how one is to progress in Life in its stead.

The money offered by the evangelical homosexual is not his own but something more akin to the pieces of silver offered to Judas from the collection plates in the Jewish synagogues. If there is any statement of truth offered in the article at The Blaze it’s the one Mrs. Kline wrote in her Facebook page: “Our culture has accepted 2 huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them,” she wrote. “Second is that to love someone means that you must agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense.”

I don't remember ever suggesting I was here to help you or anyone else. It's your baggage. You carry it.

Could you recommend a good sensitivity class or something? Fix me mOjOm! Tell me how to make it go away.

I doubt I can fix whatever might be broken in you and I've never been to a sensitivity class either. Try the yellow pages.

Yeah. Or maybe someone has a lot of cheese on hand and needs crackers. Hard to tell sometimes.
