You are correct. Doctors do this all of the time. Nobody admits to it and nobody talks about it, but it happens. When I was much, much, younger I did wonder how so many doctors could get the time of death so right. As in calling in the family and announcing that they would not make it through the night when in a lot of those circumstances their overall health had not worsened more than the night before or even the week before.

I think some doctors do care to the extent that they are willing to help nature along just a wee bit, whether it's a tad too much morphine when they know their system can't handle that much or something else. It would be hard to not consider it I would think.
