My experience with the Black Panthers was in college, in the very early 70's. They haven't changed a bit, at least then they weren't calling for the killing of white people. I was a stupid kid in love and have remained proudly blonde (well gray now) ever since. Anyway, here they are in a youtube www.youtube.com...
A wikipedia entry: en.wikipedia.org...
A news article where the Black Panthers, quite openly Democrat supporters call for killing white babies in nurseries
www.examiner.com...

Al Sharpton, your link www.truthrevolt.org...

As for Jackson, well I was there and it happened in the late 1970's at his church in Chicago.

They are Democratic Party racists, all of them and the Democratic Party does not hide them or keep them under control.

I never encountered a racist in the Tea Party, doesn't mean they didn't exist, just they weren't the average party member . Just as you say the Black Panthers aren't the average Democrat.

BTW, I grew up to see the truth.

That was disgusting even before I saw the Youtube link I have never held them in any regard for these low lifes they get no respect from me.
The Sharpton thing was simply not true the riots started before he got there,I know I just came back from Hawaii only hrs after the incident, the story was a motorcade carrying some Hasidic grand rabbi ran over couple of kids killing one, an ambulance arrived at the scene and took off with the Rabbi who was unhurt and leave the kids bleeding and dying at the scene this was off-course a private ambulance belonging to the Hasidic community, this started the riot that was building up in tension between the two communities for sometime, I think that pic of Sharpton in demonstration was about three days or so later...he wasn't there.

And I apologize for being kurt with you earlier about you being involved with losers I thought you were a much younger person we all make mistakes ,I do not like disrespecting elders.

I went to a couple TP rallies when they first began. There was a lot of of diversity in ages and color. But that quickly changed. After the first few it began to dwindle because it became a group of whiny white guys hollering about socialism, commies, mexicans taking jobs and lazy black folk on welfare.

Needless to say, I quit going.

They had a good thing going when it started, but it turned out to be what was described in the OP's article. Hell, the original TP organizers here in Iowa are not even part of it anymore. That's how bad it's become.

The easiest way to take down an opposing political ideology is to try to stamp them as racists. Oldest trick in the book. Unfortunately, too many people fall hook line and sinker for it.

Irrelevant. What we should be asking ourselves is what he said true or not.

All good points.

Shows how one story can get sensationalized and "re-written" and opinionized multiple times.

Based on my experiences, there is some truth to what he said and that may be uncomfortable for some to accept.

I have talked to numerous people that still attend.

Racism is not there. The attendees are still all races and creeds.

Haven't really talked about the income factor.

That's cool. Perhaps I just had some bad experiences...and I don't think those elements reflect the entire TP.

Geez, I hope it was isolated.

I guess it depends on the area as well.

Americans for Prosperity and Tea Party are Koch bros funded, racism is used as a means to an end even when Blacks, Poor people ,Gays,Women and others show up.
Not saying all Tea Party members are racist or even Toms, some are just not into the politics of the left and that's ok but they do attract an awful lot of racist, about Tea Party Blacks shown on the Tea party channel FOX News they are invariably Uncle Toms whose main function is to make racist statements seems palatable when it comes from them.

And unfortunately the rev Jesse Lee Peterson in the Tea Party is not an aberration he is one of many, perhaps the only one I could possible give an ear to is Dr Ben Carson and I think he is out off his rockers most of the time, and the only other prominent Tea party guy I'd also give an ear to but also bares watching would be Rand Paul.

Top Conservatives Run PAC
That Funded White Nationalists

Two prominent conservative movement officials who hold leadership positions for several right-wing groups—Ron Robinson and James B. Taylor—run a political action committee that donated thousands of dollars to a white nationalist organization, according to public records. And for several years Taylor was vice president of another white nationalist organization.

Robinson and Taylor are each board members of Young America's Foundation (YAF), which cofounded the annual Conservative Political Action Conference and runs the conservative youth group Young Americans for Freedom. (YAF owns and manages the Ronald Reagan Ranch, trains conservative journalists, and calls itself "the principal outreach organization of the Conservative Movement.") And Robinson, YAF's president, is on the board of two other conservative groups: Citizens United, which brought the landmark Supreme Court case of the same name, and the American Conservative Union, which operates CPAC.

With these positions, Robinson and Taylor are at the center of mainstream conservative infrastructure. But each also sits on the three-person board of America's PAC, a far-right outfit that in 2004 gave $5,000 to the Charles Martel Society, a white nationalist group, according to the PAC's filing with the Federal Election Commission. Taylor, YAF's former executive director and a current board member, founded America's PAC in 1983. Both his and Robinson's names appear on America's PAC letterhead before and after the donation to the Martel Society. Since 2004, America's PAC has raised and spent over $5 million, giving donations to dozens of Republican candidates

"Uncle Toms." That pretty dammed offensive and racist. Are you saying that a black man MUST have a political view or not have one just because of the color of his skin? Disgusting. You actually prove the OP's point.

No I know the difference between a Tom and someone with a difference of opinion , one is rooted in self hate and opportunism like I said Ben Carson is no Tom Colin Powel Michael Steele among others, the other simply disagree on a particular direction to be taken, the example above is a Tom,the exact type who would run and tell Massa that his slave are plotting to run off or burn his plantation, this Tom told white folks thank you for slavery, imagine a Jew praising Nazis for concentration camps and making light of life in those camps or Irish Catholics thanking the English for centuries of brutality.

No, it's just an excuse for continued racism and it's a bit off to compare Jews and Nazis to Blacks and Republicans--considering that Lincoln was a Republican and the Democrats opposed civil rights. If there is any plantation anymore, it is the welfare plantation, and those "Uncle Toms" go by the names of Sharpton and Jackson.

Regardless, the whole point you lay down is racist.

Reread what I typed I said the statement that Jesse Lee Peterson made would be as repugnant as if the same was made by Jews and Irish Catholics thanking their past oppressors for what they did to their ancestors to the descendants of such oppressors, and I made no such comparison to Republicans in general so stop defending Toms.

And geeez you guys never quit with the whole the Dems were the racist and Reps were the progressives...Yes that's was a fact but the Reps and Dems switched places you guys are hardly the party of Lincoln and Fredrick Douglas, you guys went for the southern strategy anti civil rights Dixiecrats took over your party for decades pro civil rights Reps went over to the Dems what is so hard for you guys to understand about this..you guys pride yourselves on being CONSERVATIVES!! and not the good kind either, which party is now trying to undermine votes where they were once champions of voter rights ,pick a state if you dare.

And I find it incredibly ironic that someone who complains about racism uses racist terms. I assume you thought it was okay to call Condolezza Rice a "house ni@@er."

The Democratic party wants to undermine voting rights by keeping all of the safeguards for integrity out of it. That way the dead people in Chicago Cemeteries can continue to vote for the machine. Gotta keep the votes sealed up for Santa Claus!

I actually kinda liked Condi she made major muck-ups especially with 911 but so did her boss, I disagree with her and her party's position and politics but naaw she didn't strike me as a house Negress type again I am drawing a distinction between people like her,Pastor Manning and Rev Patterson , Voter fraud was largely a non issue even Reps admitted this was purely a political move.
