This is definitely a big spider, though not as huge as ones that we read about on this site. It won't carry you off but might scare you to death.

I think he's fantastic.

I see plenty of large spiders around my balcony and I'll leave them be, they won't hurt me and I won't hurt them. Spiders get a bad rap but they are just misunderstood, and I've heard tarantulas make great pets.

I read that there’s a certain jungle tribe that considers the birdeater spider to be quite a delicacy. The men of the tribe also consider it a sure-fire way to get laid. When they go out to hunt during the day they keep an eye out for these spiders. If they’re able to catch one and bring it back alive to their girlfriend, they will be rewarded handsomely for it at bedtime. The women cook up the arachnid, and it makes a good hot meal...

Yum, yum...

Yes, shoot and kill it! After all, we see how blood thirsty this spider is by attacking the person's hand in the photograph!

/Sarcasm

Just because it has fangs and eight legs doesn't mean it's out to get you. I for one like the spider and am sure it'll leave me alone if I do the same to it. Heck, it's probably just as freaked out of me as I would be of it. "Oh crap man! Take a look at that tall thing! It's got really super lanky limbs, and only four of them to boot! Kill it with fire!" said the spider.

Wrap it in a banana leaf and steam it up. Tastes like crab meat.

Its big-but it ain't puppy sized.

Hand-further away from lens (blurred focus).
Spider-very close to lens(Crisp focus,close up setting/macro).

Still, its a big one, wouldn't want that landing on your face when you are sleeping.

I am much more afraid of a tiny black-widow. I don't suffer from irrational arachnophobia, but I feel fear in my gut when I see one of those bitches.

The spider's fangs are strong enough to puncture a mouse's skull.......

I won't be wondering through the jungles of Guyana at night any time soon!

If you see a black widow, you're fine - flatten it. It's the tiny one's you don't see that will get you.

If I came across something like that, I would probably die of heart failure on the spot. Fire, lots of fire, it's the only way to be sure..

My backyard is absolutely infested with black widows. Fire is the only thing that works.

Sounds like the time my mom got a bat hung in her hair and my dad beating her over the head with a broom in the front yard. That was priceless.
