So should I inform the children at work to stop making Ebola jokes because we might get quarantined?

Weird because it was a joke. None of it was remotely true.

www.cleveland.com...

The fact that it was not true does not mean it was a "joke". I thought I had explained this very clearly in my post.

Either way clear double standard unless this guy who did a full routine as a prank including chasing people down, has been arrested as well.

I do not consider it a double standard at all. Had this "prank" taken place in Cleveland, I think it would be safe to assume he would have been arrested if someone had called the cops or notified authorities. But this "prank" did not take place in Cleveland did it?

Now that being said, I think this guy should be arrested for this "prank". What he is doing is not funny at all and he is inciting a panic- especially by following people around. So before crying "racism" you need to ask yourself- did anyone call the Police? Did anyone call the Health Department? Did anyone call anybody at all? You see, the Casino did call someone.

If I may try to explain the difference from my perspective

The difference I see is the man who got arrested 'claimed' his ex-wife had gotten back from Africa and had Ebola, a contagious deadly disease
Out of precautions, until they could verify what the guy claimed to be true or false, the casino shut down until all was clear
Once they found out it was all made up and no one's health was at stake, they opened up

This case was an actual 'physical' situation that could have had the potential to be serious if he had been telling the truth

Now then, the story in your link....

That was a distasteful thing to do but no one was claiming to be near someone with Ebola, therefore it could not harm anybody

Tacky, yes
Uncalled for, yes

But IMO, 2 different situations all together

One physically affected people near him and could have infected many if the story proved to be true, hence why the casino shut down until further notice, to be on the safe side

The other was about objects [towels] with words on them that many thought offensive, but were harmless none the less

What the man did in the casino was clearly in the wrong and people had reason to be concerned about their health
The other was a distasteful act to get at their opponents, but with no actual health risk

--Possible health risk scare [casino guy]

--Harmless towels with offensive writing

No I'm not. I'm dead serious. What makes his joke more dangerous than the ones I make or the ones my students make? And don't day cause the Ebola stuff happened near him. It happened by me too.

Which link are you talking about? The video of the prank is the main one I'm interested in your response to.
