I for one am going to laugh.

If the GOP takes the Senate in the first 6 months there will be many bills passed and hit Obama's desk.

Obama will have to ether sign the Bills or veto them.

The GOP WILL use every VETO against Obama and in most cases the bills will be good for the people of the US and will make Obama look very bad when he uses the veto power.

My good friend Beezer there is degrees of everything

You know like in your car you have that half moon button where one scrolls to the red hot side and the blue cold side

The Dems aren’t much better if they were then they would be a balance to the GOP.
But they are too much in the hands of the Zionists

So you are right the dems wont save us

there is no one to save us

Personally, I don't give a fig about any politician.

I certainly won't be waiting for any politician to save me or mine.

We'll just have to save ourselves.

Last, first:

I noted in my post that Klain helped to "approve" a visit by BHO to the Solyndra Facility.

He was not, however, instrumental in setting up the government's initial grant to the failed company as Xuenchen stated.

Charles we all have our own inimitable styles in our communiques here. I was a bit snippy with you, but, you could just as easily sent me a private message for clarification of my post as trying to draw the matter out here.

But ... whatever.

Thank you for your answer to my question. When I hear you say things like that, I detect a reasonable person ...

Best,

Will, you know what I really think?

I really think that no politician is going to become an evil dictator.

I think life will go along as it normally does.

We'll have some good years, and we'll have some bad years.

But the sun will rise in the east and set in the west and nothing we do or say will ever change that. Lives will be lived.

Lawn will get mowed.

Scotch will be imbibed.

Songs will be sung.

And all the feckless politicians in all the world won't be able to change that.

Dear willtell,

You are correct, I misinterpreted your intention. "Facetious" is clearly not the right word to describe your post. But aren't you picking up a rather dangerous weapon to use against the Republicans? It could easily be argued that the Democrat presidents have been far worse.

In the last 50 years, we've had Johnson, Carter, Clinton, and Obama as Democrat presidents. Do you really want to say that they represent the pole of light, truth, and goodness?

You worry "If the GOP takes power. . ." You mean in the Senate? That's what the thread is discussing. You tell us that it will be the beginning of the end and that destruction will be ignited on the planet. How do you know that?

I suppose my general objection to your post is that it seems so overheated. Republicans are devils, Democrats are saviours, and if we can only keep the Senate for two more years, there will be no additional wars on earth and the destruction of the planet will not be ignited.

The State and Defense Departments will stay in Obama's hands. Only a little less certain is that disease and wars will continue to grow.

Don't worry about the Republicans getting the Senate, remember that there are a few Republicans that are known to vote Democrat every now and then. But if the Republicans do win, I urge you to remember Obama's words:

You don't like a particular policy or a particular president? Then argue for your position. Go out there and win an election.

Which has been interpreted to mean "We won, get over it."

With respect,
Charles1952

Its not as if the Senate switching parties was unexpected.

The states in question for 2014 are red states. Red states have become far more radical since Obama first came into office in 2009. As soon as conservatives could do so they voted for radical Republicans for the House of Representatives in 2010. Since U.S. Senate terms are six years long this is the first time these red states will have been able to vote for them since Obama was inaugurated. Nothing shocking there.

What is also equally scheduled to happen in two more years in 2016 is another U.S. Senate reversal back to the Democratic Party. More blue states will be up for grabs then and all forecasts show the Republican reign in the senate will be a short two year affair.

The USA is not becoming a right-wing nation. We're experiencing a delayed knee-jerk reaction to the Obama administration from the red states yet again which will be reversed in short order.

Just a quick question on definitions.

As soon as conservatives could do so they voted for radical Republicans for the House of Representatives in 2010.

Do you believe there are any radical Democrats? Roughly how many? Of course you may mean that in order to be a political radical, you have to be a Republican. Interesting but confusing.

The other word usage is this one:

We're experiencing a delayed knee-jerk reaction to the Obama administration . . .

I thought the whole point of "Knee-jerk" is that it is nearly instantaneous. Obama's approval has been falling for years. Is it surprising that people have come to the point where he's fouled up enough issues that they are rejecting him and his party?

You can have radicals of all political ideologies. Some radicals are harmful. Some radicals are radical to right the injustices of society. I would absolutely love for actual radical Democratic politicians to get into office and give us some more actual freedoms in this country. As of this moment in the U.S. Senate there does not appear to be any of what I would consider to be radical Democratic Senators in office. Maybe Elizabeth Warren, but I don't think she's doing enough or can do enough with her meek and waffling fellow Democratic Senators.

I explained that in my post. U.S. Senate terms are six years long. 2014 is the first time these red states have been able to change their Senators since Obama was first inaugurated. So they're going to do so now. Not that it will change anything once 2016 comes around.

Dear guohua,

I'll take that drink. And thanks for the 12 Girls Band Ahhhhh, that brings back memories of a better place in the past. By the way, I have three bottles of Tsingtao in the refrigerator, you may have one if you'd like.

Well, I've pulled out a fairly inexpensive cigar, and admired your tact in getting us back on track.

Let's see where we are.

There are a number of polls being reported in left and right news outlets saying that the Republicans will take the Senate.

It's probably not right-wing propaganda, but the idea has been floated that it is left-wing propaganda to make Republicans over confident. That doesn't make sense to me, but the idea is out there.

It's also apparent that Democrat candidates don't think Obama is an asset to them. He's not appearing in public with any of them.

OK, fine so far?

The discussion seems to be around two issues centering on what happens if the Republicans take the Senate. Will they have much power, considering that Obama has a veto that can't be overridden by Republicans alone? And whether it's a good or a bad thing?

Of course Democrats will say that it is a terrible evil and Republicans say it will be a great good, but who is surprised at that?

What does surprise me are the people who say Left and Right are the same, but then say it's terrible if the Right gets in, and wonderful if the Left gets in. One can't logically hold both positions.

So, guohua, have I got it down pretty much correctly?

With respect,
Charles1952

Right On The Button,,,,, The left think their world well end if the right gets in control,,, Actually, something may get off H Reids Desk and Moved Forwarded. What there is 300 bills that Congress has sent to the Senate and Reid has Ignored them.

I found poster, Frith bit interesting as she / he brought up something about getting Democratic Politicians in to give us More Freedoms and then she / he mentioned, Elizabeth Warren,,, in the same sentence as more Freedoms!
No, I don't think so,,,, just ask Warren about Gun Control or Magazine Size for Weapons, OH,, and she opposes casinos, What?
She's a Boat Load of Freedom, That One is,,,YEAH,,, Right and I'm Santa Claus!

I'm a liberal and I'm for gun control. If we had a sane American society that didn't have constant gun murders I might not be, but my fellow Americans have proven they are incapable of being responsible with firearms. Ultimate freedom does not have to mean you can walk around with an assault rifle. Freedom can also mean freedom from being shot to death in the street.

Nobody is perfect. I don't oppose casinos. Elizabeth Warren does and her opposition comes from her experience with seeing families destroyed from gambling addiction. Do I require absolute adherence to one ideology? No. If I did I'd be a Tea Party member.

That's something liberals have managed to do that conservatives have not. Allow for differences of opinion and governance without adhering to a strict code that requires all followers to have the same exact ideas of how things should be done.

I'm confused by some of this. You mentioned Frith, but he's not the only poster (or politician) who is saying that this is no big deal, it's part of the cycle, it will flow the other way in 2016.

But if that's true, why are they so panicked? If it's just part of the normal back and forth of politics, why not just say "Well, it doesn't look like it's our year. We'll try again later."

Instead we get anger, name calling, general uproar, and predictions of great doom. I'd appreciate it if Democrats picked a side. Is it a normal occurrence, or a catastrophe of great magnitude which must be fought to preserve the country?

The only thing I can conclude is that before the election they will claim "great catastrophe," and if the Senate goes Republican, they'll say "no big deal, natural occurrence." Sounds like sour grapes.

If republicans gain control of the senate we can look forward to the little guy baring more of the burden for the rich. Sure they will wrap themselves in the flag and say if you oppose them you hate freedom while they outsource jobs for corporate profit and dumb down education of the masses. It's really this simple if you are a republican and you don't own a corporation or aren't part of the upper 2% you are just stupid.
