What's the story morning glory? Did the Royals win? I'm not up to snuff on the playoffs this year. But I do give you props for posting in the sports section. ( The dark, lonely closet in the ATS house)

I remember that season. They opened with a record something like 35-3 and didn't look back. Sparky was their manager at the time if I recall.

I just love the line "Most of these guys weren't alive ..."

And no, they haven't won yet. They're currently 2 to 1 and getting ready for the 7th inning I think. If they can manage to win this game, they sweep Baltimore and make it to the series.

Pardon any errors I make. I do have the game on, but I'm working my way through an Angry Orchard. And it is working it's magic.

Yay! The Royals did win!

They swept the Orioles in four and are headed to the series.

Fun stuff! Growing up as a lefty, I idolized George Brett. Really cool to see him in near-tears as the Royals advance for the first time in 29 years.

And honestly - do yourself a favor if you haven't heard the "George Brett story." Probably better off not doing it around dinner time, but it's really pretty funny.
