Notice that he is speaking in Poland, mainly to new Eastern European members of NATO who were the ones most helpful during Gulf War II.

President Bush says it is time for the United States and Europe to set aside differences and come together in defense of liberty. Speaking in the Polish city of Krakow, in an outdoor courtyard of Wawel palace Saturday, Mr. Bush said the United States wants a strong NATO alliance and is commited to a united Europe.

He said now is not the time "to stir up divisions in a great alliance" but to unite against "a new enemy" which he described as "a lethal combination of terror groups and outlaw states seeking weapons of mass destruction."

He said the greatest threat to world peace is the spread of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons and called on U.S. partners in Europe "to step up to the shared duties of free nations."

KRAKOW, Poland President Bush, still miffed at the French and other "old Europe" nations that opposed the U.S.-led war in Iraq, said yesterday that he is prepared to bury the hatchet and urge European leaders to join the fight against terrorism.
Arriving in Poland at the start of a weeklong trip that culminates in Jordan with a Middle East peace summit, the president said his meeting tomorrow at the Group of Eight economic summit in Evian, France, with French President Jacques Chirac will not be confrontational.
"Absolutely not. [The G-8 meeting is] an opportunity to talk with some who agreed with us on Iraq and some who didn't about how we move forward," he said.

Eurofile: Dutch warn of federal police
By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard in Brussels
(Filed: 31/05/2003)

The Dutch government attacked the new European constitution yesterday, predicting that it would spell the end of national justice systems and give excessive powers to Europol, the pan-Union police body.

Gijs de Vries, the Dutch envoy on the drafting convention, said plans for a European Public Prosecutor with jurisdiction over "cross-border crimes" would set off an avalanche, allowing the European Union to take full control over law enforcement.

Thankfully, Im seeing alot of resistance to the EU here in britain, which is a good thing. But sadly, I fear, they too shall eventually get sucked in to it.

Bush doesnt want a Euro aliance anymore than they want it with us. Anyone can see the atlantic rift is too deep to patch. Europe is from Venus, America from Mars.

Its time we parted ways. World War 2 is many years past. We can finally withdraw. Europe has morethan likely learned its lesson, and can police and defend themselves. Its time we left them to it and be done with it.

But it seems Bush is trying to stir up a bloc of new allies. Wondewr how thats gonna affect the EU. Poland probably went into the gulf on good faith, since they know too well what happens when a ruthless dicator is not removed fast enough. Bush and his comparisons of saddam and Hitler probably stirred up sentiment and support. Seems Poland was duped too.

This isnt for military allies, these visits are totally economic with the dollar continuing to fall to new record lows. Bush is begining to run scared, Iraq isnt working like it should have and now he is going to have to get the EU behind him if the dollar is going to bounce back, i fear this is just the start of what is going to be a massive depression beacause when the dollar gets lower people are gona drop the US dollar like its poisonous and the Euro is gona be there to build back up the world economy under a new standard.
thats just my theory anyway your more then welcome to rubbish it

Its as good a theory as any, Sid, and sounds very plausible. Bush really has helped conribute to our economic decline. Clinton started it, and Bush is giving it a massive shove downward to oblivion.

Perhaps this is the best thing for us, a falling dollar and economic collapse will shake people out of thier comfort.

Bush doesnt really want a coalition with the EU, this is mainly just an attempt to keep the new Cold Economic War cold, and not go military.

The US and UK are essentially joined at the hip in this, as the UK has cast its lot with the US in hanging onto the dollar as oil standard currency.

I find it interesting that most of the former soviet bloc eastern european countries are siding with the US. My theory is that they have all spent the last 50+ years under the totalitarian rule of a socialistic empire, and they likely see the EU as just the same thing with slightly prettier wrappings in the wings. Therefore, they are interested in hanging with the US, as they know better than the rest of Europe about what is coming.

Well, Dragon, youre right in your assumption that the east is sticking with the US because of 50 years of soviet dominion. Since the cold war and pressure from the US collapsed the stranglehold, the people tend to think more favorably of the US there. And since Russia is opposing the US in this mess, they automatically side with us, for the most part.

France has not been very helpful either. The people in eastern Europe dont want French dominion, and have certain issues with the EU.

But in reality, it would be better for Eastern Europe to step away from both the US and EU and start rebuilding on thier own.they have the potential to do it. They just need time.

The UK should do what Canada is doing, remain neutral. The pound has always been a rock hard currency. It would put them in a better position in the middle so that they have the benefits of both EU and US aliance, without having to cast its lot with either.

I see the UK as being a middle man between Europe and the USA.
We understand both sides' money.

We won't commit ourself to either side until the world social/economic climate is much more stable. It's not in our interest to do so and it benefits both Europe and USA to have us sit on the fence at the moment.

Youre quite right, leveler. An attitude you guys should keep. And it helps keep NWO that much more at bay.

Dragon you got 1 of my votes for sure, your inclusion of the eastern block countries is right on the button, now i see another reason why the US and Russia are teaming up on NK ( is it just me or do all these conspirices lately relate back to the US dollar).

The news that 50 backbenchers are pushing for a public enquiry into the case for WMD and Blair's decision including the resigned Robin Cook and Claire Short is in my opinion great news.

I also hear of a similar US enquiry...

I hope it's not just me who will feel relieved when Blair and Bush lose power, because i fear they will end up creating something terrible if they remain in power for another term or two.

Both these men are simply trying to make thier own mark on history, and i fear thier mark could be a black one. Does any1 else share this opinion?

Too much, Im afraid, snoop.

The complexity of affairs right now makes my head spin.

Blair migh lose power, but \i fear the inanity of the American public will help Bush retain his.
